I might actually use Distant Land on this PC, it is running Oblivion wonderfully at settings I couldn't have gotten from the old one.

Yes, seems so. We should use the Morrowind General Discussion more often, it sure is good to have a Morrowind Talk from time to time :mrgreen:.

Hopefully GoatLiver is on PC for the Code Patch.

Yeah I'm on pc! I think I will need to look at that patch, will it need any sort of mod manager, Just worried that if I mod the game it will stop working?

Also OMG that overhaul looks amazing! I wanted to try and get a distant land sorta mod for Morrowind as the draw distance is not very far at all, but I am worried about stability. I think once I beat the main story I will look into mods like the ones mentioned here. Does that MGSO one change anything other than the graphics, I heard about someone making Morrowind using the Oblivion engine? sounds pretty cool :)

Also was wondering is there a main quest for each guild like there is in oblivion? I ask because I joined the mages guild and so far they have asked me to track down plants, flowers and books :| but is there a longer story driven sorta quest for each guild or just side missions and the main quest is the only story?

The Morrowind Overhaul project is currently only Graphics and Sound (Morrowind Graphics and Sound Overhaul - MGSO).

The one that uses Oblivion's engine is probably Morroblivion, but unfortunately it's illegal and not finished anyway. They haven't done all the scripting, so it's just an import of Morrowind's worldspace into Oblivion (as a mod into the game), so you'd need both Morrowind and Oblivion anyway.

As for modding your game, the more mods you use, the slower it will run (particularly with overhauls running). It really depends on your PC though, so post some info and I'll compare with my two PC experiences.

If you want, I'll work on a list of mods I liked, and get back to you.

As for quests, most of the early quests are really mundane, but the beauty of that is you experience normal life for a bit, before rising in the ranks and getting more into the Guild's story. It is very different from Oblivion though, in that Oblivion focuses more on individual stories, while Morrowind focuses on Guild interactions with each other.

The Fighters Guild has a nice story though, and all the others have little stoylines too (they even have a couple un-related ones in some instances :mrgreen:).

Cool cool so there are stories eventually after you gain rank :)

As for my PC I have a Nvidia 8600 graphics card, Intel Core 2 Quad, 8 gig RAM. Not too technical but I think that's all the important stuff XD

Also on the mods do they work with the 2 official expansion packs as I think they both sound interesting and I plan on playing those too as some stage!

That's very similar to the new computer I'm using now and I think it should do absolutely fine with mods. I've been playing on a much older PC with 1Gig of RAM, a non-existent graphics card and just generally not good for gaming stuff, and it did pretty well.

I'm still installing all my mods on the new machine, but it should be fine as I can run it without any of the loading-new-area lag I got on my old machine.

Also, mods will work with the expansions, in fact some will require them :wink:.

That [&@%!] just tried to attack me for wearing her clothes when she asked me too >:( I may need to tie them around her neck and throw her out the tower!

Also OMG O_O - I was given an indoril cuirass and helm and then one of the ordinators attacked me just for wearing it, so naturally I introduced his face to my 6th house bell hammer, then I took all of his armor as well XD, Im in the process of selling the bits I have 2 of or don't need because they are worth lots of $$$, BUT now all the other ordinators are attacking me on sight? I checked and I don't have a bounty on me, how do I get them to stop? - please help I think I may have saved over the last save before because I didn't realize :(

Also I seem to now be effected by "wild clumsiness" is this just a common disease I can get rid of in the temple?

Yeah, Therana is crazy that way. You might like to try get her Khajiiti slave to try on the dress, rather than do it yourself for future attempts (or if you re-load a save).

Also, on the Indoril topic, the ordinators will attack you on sight just for wearing it, even if you take it off after they've seen you. I'll post a console command that may calm them, but again for future reference, you have to unequip it when going near them (Vivec, Mournhold and Ghostgate in particular).

"ordinator stationary"->SetFight 30
"ordinator wander"->SetFight 30
"ordinator wander_hp"->SetFight 30
"ordinator_high fane"->SetFight 30
"ordinator_wander_hvault"->SetFight 30
"ordinator_wander_tvault"->SetFight 30
"ordinator_mh_stationary"->SetFight 30
"ordinator_mh_TBasement"->SetFight 30
"ordinator_MH_Sadri"->SetFight 30
"ordinator_mh_TH_UNI"->SetFight 30
"ordinator_mournhold"->SetFight 30

Just know I haven't tried this myself, but got it of another website. You might want to make a fresh save before you mess with the console. Alternatively, you may have to load an old save.

As for wild clumsiness, it's no disease or spell I've ever heard of, but going to an altar and paying a small donation will allow you to cure any disease (other than Corpus). You could try that, as it may be a disease.

Says I am currently supposed to be immune to diseases so not sure whats causing that?

On the ordinators does that mean that now if I take off the armor then travel to a city where they are, they will attack me automatically? I'm not to keen to mess with the console/cheat just yet, what happened happened! I'm actually pretty cool with it/find it kind of funny! I made a lot of money from his stuff and I don't want to give it back, I think my only save before it happened was quite some time :( I don't want to have to repeat all that stuff. Besides it adds to the uniqueness of the play through and immersion stuff, just wish I could pay a fine or something :/

Anyway I need to go to the hall of wisdom or justice for a quest soon though and I know there will be lots of them there so I'll ask a question about invisibility, does it act the same way as it did in oblivion as in when you open a door or interact with things, the spell wears off? or does it just last the whole duration it says it will?

And lol at Therana I escaped with an intervention scroll, she kept getting me with burden O_O

On the topic of Ordinators, apparently they only attack if you talk to one while wearing an Indoril Helm or Cuirass. In addition, once done, there is no way to stop them outside the console, but if you really don't want to use it, try getting arrested by a guard (a normal one, seeing as Ordinators probably wont initiate dialogue with you) and see if that stops it.

On invisibility, it will last until you activate something (talking to or attacking somebody, picking up an item, opening a door or container, etc.) or until the duration ends.

I'm unsure of this, but a calm spell might stop them attacking you, at least so you can get into the Temple Canton and to the office.

This might also end the attacks if you ever decide to use the console:
Set Wearingordinatoruni to 0
"Ordinator Stationary"->StopCombat Player
"Ordinator Stationary"->setfight 10
"Ordinator Wander"->StopCombat Player
"Ordinator Wander"->setfight 10

Hmmmm, are there a set number of ordinators? As in is it possible for me to kill all of them? I guess they don't really want you to be able to beat the ordinators, they are pretty strong! I'll wait and see if it breaks the game before I use the console or stops me from completing certain quests :|

Also I completed part of the main quest and now seem to be permanently immune to disease does this mean I cannot become a vampire at a latter stage? I actually haven't seen any vampires which is strange as they were pretty common in Oblivion.

Vampirism is not a "common disease" so you can still contract it.

Ordinators re-spawn, so you can never kill them all.

Also, it may not be a disease then, but a spell effect that damaged you? I've never encountered it though.

You could drink a potion, cast a spell or visit a shrine and offer a donation for the blessing. It should work.

Where is a good place to sell higher value items, most people I see only have a low amount of gold to trade is there anywhere that has much higher like a couple thousand? - and also is willing to buy weapons and armor?

I'd recommend heading for Caldera to find Creeper the Scamp in Ghorak Manor. Creeper has 5,000 drakes to barter with and better yet, is lacking Disposition and Mercantile skills, meaning he will always buy and sell items at their base value.

it's one of the bad things abut Morrowind, they'll attack you on sight from now on so you will probably want to use the console soonish cos i found the amusement wore off after the second or third time i was trying to go about my business in vivec to be mugged by them. Great way to make money tho, mark/recall the mudcrab merchant then water walk your way back to vivec

Creeper may have less money, but he is so easy to travel too, where as the Mudcrab is so insanely annoying to locate.

Just head on down to your nearest Mages Guild, use the Guild Guide to travel to Caldera, and walk a a short way to Ghorak Manor.

Besides, there are only a few things that Creeper can't fully pay for.

Still, it's a valid point. I normally horde some items and head over to the Mudcrab when I have a fair amount to sell.

Actually, there's nothing the Creeper can't pay for... if you know what you're doing. (and by 'you' I mean that anonymous, anyone 'you', not you) :P
