Anybody planning on NOT buying Skyrim?
I'm looking forward to purchasing Skyrim when it comes out.
However, I've been seeing so much negativity around here and other forums about the game that I'm getting a consensus that it's already a lost cause that will never measure up to previous games in the series. People already have a laundry list of mods they want made for it and only get more disappointed as more info or videos are released.
So out of curiosity, is there anyone flat out not getting the game at all? By that I mean no purchasing, no buying then modding later, or even pirating it.

So you aren't getting it because people who haven't played it are saying that it'll be bad.

WOW! Now I did not expect this thread. I don't think the consensus has ever been that it's going to be terrible, and the few people who have argued that it will be don't ever seem to have logic on their side. I mean, at least wait for the taffing reviews before saying you aren't getting it.

The only way people here won't buy this is A: don't have money B: other really good games coming out during the season. On looks alone this game is must have for most gamers.

Just because a bunch of whiners are doing what comes naturally to them, that's no reason to not buy the game. Of course the game will be as good as the previous ones.

Ring-a-ding, baby.

To tell you the truth, the game looks wicked. But I'm going to wait until the GOTY edition is $20. Until then, I'll seldom play it at my friend's house. Once it comes out and he buys it of course.

I'll be pre-ordering as soon as it becomes available on Steam (probably September or October)

Re: Anybody planning on NOT buying Skyrim?
I think the gameplay will be the best yet, and the story will be much better than Oblivions, yet still noticeably worse than that of Morrowind.
I'm looking forward to the changes in the level system, the improved graphics (especially the draw distance), and animations that seem to be fairly decent and acceptable, if not amazing.

Re: Anybody planning on NOT buying Skyrim?
The game will be better then any other TES title in my belief, no one know's full details and features that are going to be in this game, people panic to much, i simply get a hard on when ever i see a screenshot of Skyrim game footage.

Me personally, I'm excited to play it. However, I've seen so many people upset that I'm wondering if it's actually drove them to the point of not even wanting to play it.POMC S117 wrote:So you aren't getting it because people who haven't played it are saying that it'll be bad.

Re: Anybody planning on NOT buying Skyrim?
I heard that LA: Noire fried (like literally burnt out, won't even turn on anymore) older models of the PS3.
Syrim's graphics look very intense. I have the older (fat) model. I doubt that it will, but you know that my fan is going to freak out when i step out of the prison the first time (is the tutorial a prison? I haven't even been keeping up on it :\)
Will this stop me from buying it? Hell no. I already pre-ordered on amazon a few weeks ago.

I'm not buying it because I have plenty of other games to play

Re: Anybody planning on NOT buying Skyrim?
I'll buy it, and if I like it I have the same copy for 8 years like Morrowind, but if I don't, I'll return it to the store.
Easy peasy.

Re: Anybody planning on NOT buying Skyrim?
the only time i ever bought a game on release day i regretted it, so i won't buy until the first patch is out.
its also cos i'll need a new computer to run it. its not so bad tho, i'd probably need a new one this year anyway, regardless of skyrim coming out.
