What about seeing something like Trueflame or Hopesfire? That would be a pretty cool thing. I loved the Trueflame sword, and an updated version could be sweet. I know it's not a daedric artifact, but I want it.
And I agree with the Morrowind way of implementing Daedra. The shrines were usually pretty epic and impressive places, or fraught with danger, and artifacts were mysterious powerful artifacts. In Oblivion, shrines were right off the road and if you gave them a piece of dirt or your left shoe, they sent you on a usually fairly simple and straightforward quest to get a novelty item.

If there was True-Flame there; Then I suppose the Nerevarine got drunk one night and accidently got it lost in the snow while he was heading up the mountains. He left a note that said "Trueflame, Property of the Nerevarine, DO NOT touch Nerevarine Property unless you are the new hero of the series of course"

Yeah I don't know how exactly they would explain the presence of the sword, but I would love to see it.Velothi wrote:If there was True-Flame there; Then I suppose the Nerevarine got drunk one night and accidently got it lost in the snow while he was heading up the mountains. Aren't most of these distributed by Daedra? I mean, the Nerevarine got the sword from the Deadra, and eventually died.
The Deadra took it back, gave it to the Oblivion hero. He died during the last 200 years (or became Shegorath), and again the Daedra took it back.
Now in Skyrim the cycle repeats. Who knows, maybe the Daedra even "lent" it to someone in the meantime.

Re: By Azura, Daedric Princes!
i think the artifacts also have minds of their own to a certain extent. Umbra I would imagine transfers its 'ownership' to whoever kills the present owner, perhaps that's why Clav Vile wants it back in Oblivion - it has too much independence from Daedra control (or maybe he wants to trap someone's soul)
it seems to me that often the Daedra might only know where these artifacts are rather than actually distribute them. They could certainly demand that their followers recover them and give them back, but they seem to get more fun from telling hapless heroes where to find them and then having the artifact journey on with the heroes' adventures

Well Azura is my favorite Deadra, so I hope she and her star are making a return. Also the Oghma infinium is always nice, when you finally get a hold of it. And you can't forget about the ring of Khajiit, it always helped complete my 100% chameleon outfit. The ring of Namira is also nice if you putting together a high reflect damage/spell outfit. There aren't any I can think of that I wouldn't want, after all, options are like dakka. You can never have enuff

I'd just like to see some of these Daedra Prince's in a physical form, rather than being spoke to by a statue, mehhh.
