As of my current save, sadly, I haven't been able to enchant anything! I used to have fun with a whole bunch of names; a bunch of names that I cannot remember.

Re: What"s your weapon's name?
People actually enchant things in Oblivion? It's too big a PITA. Soul gems to make the weapon, soul gems to constantly keep it recharged. Give me a good mundane weapon like the Honorblade of Chorrol, or else one that recharges itself like Duskfang. Alright, well, I see why I didn't understand this then.videogmer314 wrote:Whenever you enchant something, it asks for a new name.azuarc wrote:You can name a weapon? Re: What"s your weapon's name?
It's definitely a personal preference thing. It is a bit of a pain to keep my weapons charge and check to see how much power they have left, but my damage output is pretty ridiculous.azuarc wrote:videogmer314 wrote:People actually enchant things in Oblivion? Re: What"s your weapon's name?
I'm surprised this thread doesn't have more submissions. The names of most of my enchanted weapons are not particularly original - except for one: "Alyssa's Death Bow of Ly'ssane" - which was in honor of the young woman, Alyssa, whose stupid husband would rather live in cave instead of being with her (until it was too late, I suppose).
It has a Drain Health 100 pts for 1 sec (and 50 uses) - which kills just about everything with one shot (while sneaking), regardless of what arrow is used with it. The bow is the same weight as a steel bow, but does the damage of a Dwarven bow (before enchanting).
I really didn't know what to do with the bow at first, other than add it to my collection of bows (I have a HUGE collection of bows - regular and enchanted), since I only carry two bows. Then I read about using a lighter bow, but having it enchanted to do more damage... and thought of Ly'ssane. I didn't want to do away with the original name of the bow, but I did want to add Alyssa's name to it, hence... Alyssa's Death Bow of Ly'ssane!
It replaces my generic "Death Bow" - which weighs more than double of Ly'ssane, and does 23 damage (not including the enchantment). It was too heavy and didn't kill any better than Ly'ssane, with the same enchantment.
I always carry Ly'ssane, along with a standard "Perfect Amber Bow" from Shivering Isles. I just wish I could "buy" several hundred of those Grummite arrows that have a 16 or 17 hitting power, but are lightweight!
[EDIT:] Oh... and these people complaining about having to "recharge" their enchanted items - SERIOUSLY?!! I carry around several soul gems (probably two dozen, from grand to petty), including Azura's Star (rechargeable soul gem, people!). I also boosted my armorer skill to expert, so I can repair enchanted weapons and armor (although, I don't need or wear armor)!

Re: What"s your weapon's name?
I put soul trap on all my weapons and I use Azura's star so I have almost infinite recharges. Even if I run out i can just cast soul trap to start the cycle again. The only thing thats a pain is black soul gems because I don't get grand soul gems in my usual raid places.

Yea, Azura's Star pretty much makes using enchanted weapons much less of a hassle; especially when you include sould trap in your enchantments. I can burn through a few staves, then take out my bow and recharge all the staves in no time. Of course, I also love to just use my bow and watch the poor flaming [&@%!] fly from arrows in their eye.

My zero weight deadric claymore is called Doom Slayer. Not the best name, in retrospect I should have called it the RYNO.

Whenever I'm not lazy I will enchant a weapon and name it, The Kitten Clipper, Baldrick or Moist.

Bloodvayne. (Modded on PC.)
The sword that Count Indary's gives you, edited in the CS with a Drain Health 100 points for 3 seconds. I've under powered it by only having five uses so it isn't too much (though still) of a Boss weapon.

I don't often name my weapons, although I did create one in honour of the Inheritance Cycle: Brisingr. It's a pretty run-of-the-mill Elven Longsword enchanted with Fire Damage.

I created an Elven Dagger Named "Fang of Haynekhtnamet",(It was my favorite weapon in Morrowind) just as it was in Morrowind it dealt a ton of shock damage+it strikes fast. (I killed alot of people with that thing, both games.)

Do you use this spell for levelling up these two skills?
If both effects were *on self* and fire came first in spell, it should work, no?
