- What Daedric artifacts do you want/not want back in Skyrim, and why?
- Do you think Daedric Princes should play a bigger role in Skyrim - ie. Daedric Cults being joinable factions, more of the Daedric Princes featuring prominently in the game, visiting more Daedric Realms, etc.
- Should Daedric Magic feature more in game? There are references to it (Martin mentions in Oblivion he got sick of the Mages Guild's restrictions, and dabbled in Daedric Magic - and almost died because of it), but it never really featured in the game - or at least, wasn't open to the player

By Azura, Daedric Princes!
It has been confirmed that Daedric Princes are back, as are their artifacts. The Daedric Princes are a cornerstone of TES lore, and some of their artifacts mean a lot to some of the players (while Umbra isn't technically a Daedric artifact, I'll use it as an example for an artifact people care about). So, I have several questions, and I want answers damnit!

I'd like it if some daedric magic was in the game but you earn it through daedric quests, I really want the skeleton key back so i can.. you know.. break into places and steal stuff

Re: By Azura, Daedric Princes!
Sheogorath mightn't feature prominently, but at the very least, we'll get his Daedric Shrine. I know what you're thinking, but Daedric Princes(ses) can appear in any form they like - they have no gender, nor race, and are often not even humanoid. Therefore, there is no canon issue, and we could (hopefully) see Sheogorath feature at least twice in game
No, Oblivion Gates can no longer manifest. Mortals can travel freely, and Daedra can be summoned, but no longer can Daedra enter Mundus through their own will. This is because the barrier between Oblivion and Mundus (the universe in which Nirn is, which the planet containing Tamriel) is closed. Though, this may simply be between Dagons Deadlands, and Mundus - leaving some of the more evil Daedric Princes (think Molag-Bal - Daedric Prince of Rape) free to invade.

In response to the OP, I would love to be able to join a Daedric cult, and as for artifacts that I'd like to see return, skeleton key is obvious, I assume the Spell Breaker will make a return, and I personally want to see Goldbrand return (I have taken a liking to it recently).

People obviously getting carried away with the daedric Magic reference made in Oblivion, he might of just meant Summoning Daedric life form's or bound weapons which just all happen to be Daedric weapons, what other form's of daedric magic people are assuming i dont know.

Re: By Azura, Daedric Princes!
Daedric cults should have that return to ambiguous yet still very important to society (To Morrowind it was a former way of life, in Daggerfall...you SUMMONED them on their special days, Oblivion had a Daedric invasion.)
For example we will know that Orcs will have a bigger presence in Western Skyrim being so close to the Autonomy of Orsinium, so (by default) there should be a larger presence of Orcs whom worship Malacath there. And if the Dovahkiin is an Orc, then s/he SHOULD be welcomed as a fellow blood of orsinium than attacked and pray to the god to get it talking.
If not, You should earn their trust or prove your worth by killing the priests as you show to Malacath even if you are a Dunmer: you are a strong one. (Sort of a thing in Oblivion, but not as tedious or 'just convince them!' type of way).
But I don't know about a join able faction, as they aren't really seeking to overthrow the government or make their presence large and known. Most? They're secular, they don't like to be disturbed. They obviously don't have much goals besides pleasing and praying to the said Daedric Prince, which involves different things.
Orcs would be likely to show off their strength but not gain too much attention from the authorities. Like Village contests of strength and such, to please Malacath but to keep themselves quiet. Mephala worshipers would be assassins, pleasing her through the rites of killing to preserve peace.

Re: By Azura, Daedric Princes!
I'd like them all to make a return, but I remember reading on the Beth Forums about only a few playing a part in Skyrim.
As for artifacts, I'd like there to be a greater range than in Oblivion, more like Morrowind and Daggerfall (although implemented like Morrowind and Oblivion).
There should be some that do not require a Daedric Shrine Quest per se, but are still tricky to find or related to quests of another sort.
As for cults, I don't think Skyrim is the perfect setting for Daedra worship from a lore point of view, and even from the tone of the game. I think Summerset or Morrowind would be better settings for more in-depth exploration of that concept, with emphasis on Summerset.
Finally, on the topic of the sealing of Mundus from Oblivion, if you look at SI, it would seem that no Daedra can invade, but this fact alone would not stop them from manipulating the mortal plane and would have little bearing on any potential quests.
On article of note, is that the Aedra seem free to invade, as Aludin is the major enemy of the game, and is the Nordic manifestation of Akatosh, in the Nordic pantheon. This could be for a seperate reason, but it could also mean that the barrier is weakening.

I want werewolves so obviously I would want Hircine in charge of some quests with werewolves in them. Maybe let us get Hircine's ring at the end.

I'd like to overload on artifacts. Let's be able to get all of 'em (Tamrielic Lore), perhaps saving a few for expansion packs.*

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Artifacts
i really enjoyed the Morrowind way of dealing with them, thought Oblivion made them into standardised rewards for doing a Daedric quest.
I also wouldn't mind if there was a rumour to find umbra for example, and after a load of archaelogical searching and dungeon diving, you find it frozen in a glacier, untouchable for the moment. Morrowind listed many artefacts, some were very obscure and almost impossible to find, some didnt exist in the game, i liked that.
They have to be mysterious and rare, i think Oblivion lost that in the way it presented them cos you would almost expect your character to own a few of them and they were often relegated to mere accessories to adventuring (eg the skeleton key which i used to circumvent security and open).
It would be fun if owning an artifact was a bit scary/or a bit of a responsibility - perhaps if you are a 'good' character with an evil artifact you might start to suffer from bad dreams and hallucinations - artifacts suiting your characters gaming style would be happier with you and might sing to you when you're lonesome lol
i dont want to get to the stage where i know why everything happens when it happens in Skyrim, and artifacts are a good way to inject spontaneity and suprises

I really want to find out about the whole Sheogorath/Jyggalag state of affairs, as that's a pretty important event from the time of Oblivion that Skyrim has the potential to answer. Ideally in the form of some daedric quests relating to whatever mischief Jyggalag has been up to, or finding out who (if anyone) has become the new Sheogorath.

I want Volendrung to return, I've always loved that hammer, don't know why, maybe because of its looks. And about the joinable cults, I hope they do make them joinable, but still that's not much of a problem as I can roleplay like I am part of one.

i always wondered that i could walk into a clearing with Sheogoraths staff and the wabbajack, and no one invited me to join the cult, or even ask how i got them..

Secular means pertaining to non-religious matters. Kind of the opposite of what they are, which is why i got confused

As much as I like the Skeleton Key I hope it goes through some changes if it makes a come back. In Oblivion it made Security far too easy and took a fun element out of the game for me. Also, I'd love to see another Umbra.

Isn't it going to be kinda cool to realise when you earn a artifact from a daedric prince that was in Oblivion that your character from over 200 years ago once used the same artifact that you're using in Skyrim.
