I explained in the OP that you basically start in 1st year and then you go into 2nd year and so on. I know that Divination and Care of Magical Creatures aren't allowed until 3rd year, but I'll raise the age, however, that means that you won't be able to start in 1st year. But, I'll change it. If there's anything else that your unsure about or want me to change, then just ask!

There are also more rules and statistics that could be added. We'll have to take OWLs etc. How are we going to calculate our success there? We need to add studying hours to our daily schedules, keep track of them etc. This is all typed very hastily and from the top of my head but I can propose a number of improvements so that the RP can become a more rounded and refined experience.

@Jc: I'd say even earlier.

Jcnator, You're accepted. It takes place after the Second Wizarding War, so one year after the climax of the last book.

Mars, the OWLs and NEWTs are basically more important exams, and nobody is in 5th or 7th year yet so we'll decide then. Don't worry! A good point that you made me aware of was the exam calculation. The only way I can propose would be me PMing you a list of questions which you would answer:

So imagine this. I post you say a question that asks you, what are Horcruxes? Then you would post something like "Itching his sweaty head hastily, John racked his brains to answer the question, which was asking him what a horcrux was. Suddenly, encouraged by a abrupt boost of intelligence, he scribbled down: "An object in which you would store your soul, by separating it from your body." And if you get it right then I'll ask you another one until we finish the exam. Some question I'll make up, but I'll have told you the answer in a "classroom.

I know that that is a hard way to do it, however, I don't know any other ways to do it.

I say we all start off in the first year and only take the classes available for first year students. That would be easier for everyone.

That's why I limited the age. But, if you want to, you can start anywhere between 1st and 5th year. When you leave at 7th year, I might make a new RP and you can use all of your characters. A year in this RP will be like a month or 150 posts, and one holiday every two weeks. Whatever comes first. I may change that if it's too short or too long.

Well, if we all start off in the same year, we'll all leave at the same time and be able to start a new RP. The second RP could be like all of our characters as adults.

I still think that we can add more stats and mechanics. Asking a couple of questions doesn't solve the problem in my opinion. First of all, the answers can be googled, secondly Rowling has written next to no magic theory. Therefore the questions wouldn't be realistic. I propose that we post how many hours we study each day. The DM(s) can keep track of that and then calculate the exam results by taking the study time into account as wall as a random factor, preferably a dice system.

Characters that start out in later years should also post their house.

Mars, that's good, but it kind of subtracts from the action side of the RP. How about we compromise, we start studying on the last week, which is the last few months, but I also ask one made-up question, which you have been told the answer of in one of the classes. Also, we should take the skills into account. I'll also add some skills as well.

There'll be no plot or twist in the first year, due to the fact that things'll have to be refined and pruned, so it'll start in the second year. Feel free to construct your own little plots whenever, but nothing to fabcy or big.
