phpBB2. Don't try phpBB3 until later on in it's life, when all kinks are worked out. I'd like to join as I love the game but don't think we can have a conversation about it here.

I can't think of a name. It should be catchy and related to Assassin's Creed. I was thinking "assassinsnet.phpbb.com" or something...help.

Oops, slight problem, going straight to the URL won't load the forum, you have to go to http://acmb.frih.net/index.php to get to the forum.

I'm going to try to get it to redirect you to the forum straight from the URL...

It's still dead though, need to add a lot of stuff before its 'usable'.

Oh on a side note, Ibrahim is going to be co-admining with me.

- Literature (books, poetry, etc)
- Software/hardware discussion (and other tech-related subjects)
- Sports and other hobbies

Good board ideas. Also when I logged in as an admin, it told me that I needed install phpBB 2 in a database. So help. And you told me not to change settings yet.

And I don't know how.

Keep the Board Clean and straight forward. One of the problems with a new board, is that people don't bother to actually read a new board. They look for a few key things to determine if they are going to invest time in the board. One of the main ones, is "How active the board is"? To many forums to start with, and it looks in(un)active. 10 forums with 100 replies doesn't look as active as 5 forums with 200 replies.

You can always add new forums later, as the board grows, and you get an idea of what it is your members want.

- Introductions (for new members) & - Suggestions (what can we improve) Are both space wasters, and makes the forum look slow. Most people just find the general topic, and post there.

ACMB
- Report Problems/bugs You already have a bug forum, why have two.

- Console Wars (all 'console wars' to be kept here, so that the rest of the forum is clean) Bad idea, very bad. Flaming, and Wars are never a good idea. They can never be limited to one area. The best idea, is to not allow any. There is a difference between a little friendly teasing, and a flame/war. Also, wars never stay where they start, they always bleed over to everywhere.

Thanks for the advice, jeff. I see now, less is more. I wasn't sure about console wars, I thought if I keep a separate board for them they would stay there, I guess not. Well, I'll be admin so I guess I can just ban it all together.
