I almost forgot to give you guys the experience from that last battle.

Anyway, once mars posts, I can update this thread.

Ghost took a moment to catch his breath and inspect his injuries. It was nothing serious, so he decided to follow the others.

The assault team left the base with their explosives and battle scars. They hadn't even gotten out of the warehouse when two men wearing very high-class suits jumped out of nowhere, wielding laser pistols and looking at holographic displays on their cybernetic arms.

"Hah! Where are you going? Our scanning outpost is already finished, and we know where this base is! Within a matter of days, it will be destroyed! What can you hope to do against us?"

[MARS]

"Kill you." Ghost apathetically said as he started sprinting sideways, unholstering his revolver in the process. He fired one shot at each of the men.

"I'd love to see you try!" one of the officers shouted as they both took cover behind shipping containers.

Leon pulled out his pistol, shot the first one in the crotch, then in the right eye, then in the left eye, and then the head.

An audible groan echoed out of the slender woman as she brought out her own .45 pistol.

Glaring towards the second officer, she aimed at his head and shot a few bullets towards it.

Jon stared over at the officers. "More? Damn..." He bellowed.
Quickly, he backed away and pulled out his sniper, aiming at the men's heads.

Ghost's hastily aimed revolver rounds did nothing other than forcing the officers to take cover.

One officer made the poor decision of jumping out from behind the shipping container to fire. He was quickly punished by a series of pistol rounds from Leon. The (continued) hasty aiming meant that of the four rounds fired, one hit the officer's cybernetic arm (disabling a few displays in the process), one hit his real forearm, one hit his shoulder, and one missed entirely, for a total of 7 damage.

Gabrielle capitalized on the opportunity as well, but she couldn't get more than one shot off before the man got back into cover. Although it was a hit, it only did 1 damage.

Jon seemed to be the only calm rebel soldier, and his patience paid off. The second officer jumped out to fire, but Jon shot him just above his left eye with the sniper rifle. The only thing keeping him alive at this point was his cybernetics. (critical hit: 32 damage)

The relatively unhurt officer suddenly discovered how much of a good idea it was to stay protected. Instead of sticking his whole body out to aim, he blindly fired his laser. Despite not actually aiming at anyone in particular, he hit Jon in the stomach. Although his armor took a lot of the blast, he still got hit with 6 points of damage.

The dying officer laid on the ground for a few seconds, motionless, until his mechanical arm suddenly reached over and grabbed the laser pistol that was in his other hand. The arm couldn't aim very well, and aimed roughly in the direction of the one who first opened fire. Several lasers were discharged in the exact same direction, and they actually burned a hole through the crate Ghost was hiding behind. He couldn't tell this until he had already taken a hit in the back for 4 damage.

Ghost wordlessly switched to his rifle and fired at the healthiest of the two enemies.

Leon reloaded his assault rifle, and empited the clip at the officer he had shot before.

Gab unloaded another clip on the weaker officer, squinting and trying to hit somewhere squishy.

Ghost's laser got a well-placed hit on the officer's cybernetic shoulder as he leaned out, damaging it almost as much as the ensuing electrical shock hurt the officer. (6 damage)

Leon, however, wasn't able to do much, even with all the ammo he used. The one bullet that hit struck the enemy's previously damaged cybernetic arm, doing 1 damage and almost fully disabling it.

The officer lying on the ground could do nothing as his barely alive body was torn up by Gab's submachine gun. As his life finally ended, so too did the power source for his robot arm. (critical hit: 24 damage)

Jon took aim at the other officer with his sniper rifle, but wasn't as accurate this time. He shot the man in the stomach, doing (14 + 2) damage. The barely functional robot arm tried to cover up the wound, but it couldn't stop the dark stain on his uniform from growing.

As he fell to his knees, he identified the man that had killed his partner and brought him down like this. He desperately tried to aim and fire, but his body going into shock stopped him from even having the strength to pull the trigger on his pistol. He said, as loud as he could, "You may kill us now, but that will do nothing to stop our army from converging on this location! Nothing can, now that you've confirmed it by killing our scouts and the two of us!"

As a side note, defense modification directly affects how much damage you take, at a 1:1 ratio.
