All he wanted to do was get rid of the Imperialist dogs that had invaded his home, and forced their region and believes upon his people... With no regard to what the population wanted, whom, could quite happily kick the Legion's ass several time over...

i always killed the adoring fan but for some reason he kept coming back hahaha

my favourite NPC's would be Azzan from fighters guild in anvil, and Lucien Lachance from the Dark Brotherhood

I like many NPCs in Oblivion, so I find it hard to make a choice
As for the Adoring Fan, I never kill him. I seldom let him follow me though, but not because he annoys me, but rather in order for him not to get lost or killed while he is trotting after me on my travels; so I place him in a room in one of my houses - he has his own room, yay! He is hanging around there, keeping out of trouble, entertaining my guests and making me smile with his greetings when I drop by
Regarding Morrowind, I haven't played it all that much, but I have already managed to come across some interesting NPCs, like the Khajiit in the Balmora Mages Guild who writes funny reports about mushrooms, and the, uhm, loveable Dunmer robber (Nels Llendo I believe). The Spymaster seems interesting as well I still have to meet the one and only Curio though
