What don't you want in Skyrim?
The "What would ruin the game for you?" thread is full of posts that aren't quite on par with the topic. Therefore I created this one.
I do not want the game to hold my hand.

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
I made a thread like this a while back. It had died out before you joined. Newb.
http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=20273
But looking back, my choices were;
none of the leveling featured in oblivion;
like mythical creatures on the road every 5 minuites.
and a lowly bandit in glass armour.
that's why i never level up past level 9
Back when I never used capitals.

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
The bandits should only attack you if you are a low level, unheard of, there are lots of them or you attacked them first. That would be good. What I don't want is the opposite.

i would like the competing skills to be different and not evolve into essentially cosmetic choices.
ie light and heavy armor in oblivion. they start out drastically different, but as you raise your level, they start becoming the same thing statistically. i would rather they distance themselves even more as you level them up.

If it is simpler and more focused on fighting. Like, moves closer to a generic fantasy RPG game as to appeal to more casual gamers, under the false notion of a "bigger" audience, instead of creating more depth for the fans who love the series for what it was and love to customize and benefit from every little detail.

If I bust my ass at low level dispatch a clan of Ice Vampires and find a unique magical item, I don't want it to be crappy.

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
The inability to change the names of saves on a console needs to go. I would really like to able to label my saves in Skyrim. It's a change so simple, yet helpful, that it will be pretty silly if it doesn't happen imo.

Mods for consoles. Not generalizing, but on the consoles, everybody would just buy Skyrim to get "Call of duty costumes and gunz!!" which annoys me.

Guns.
Argonians
(necessary racist joke)
Leveled equipment (unique stuff, especially artifacts, should be powerful no matter when and where you found them.)
The inability to delete useless spells.
Argonians.
So I don't want to pay several grand every couple of years upgrading a PC, I don't get to play mods?

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
PCs aren't that expensive. I got my current rig for about 600-700 euro. Upgrading it for the next few years will cost approximately 400 euro. That's not a lot of money for the superior system.
Anyway, I would also hate to see the combat remain unchanged. From the demo it still seems like it's the same.

Pretty sure that people who like Call Of Duty, won't be trying to do that on Skyrim.Knight wrote:Mods for consoles. Not generalizing, but on the consoles, everybody would just buy Skyrim to get "Call of duty costumes and gunz!!" which annoys me.
They will just play more Call of Duty.
With that being said, you not wanting mods for consoles purely because you don't want people making dumb mods is the stupidest, and most selfish comment I have seen on here.
Stupid JRPG fags go on the computer, and make mods of having girls with no clothes, giant boobs, anime character models, and everything else I would see in a Japanese cartoon. And I personally think that's dumber than a few guns in Skyrim. There will be dumb people no matter where you go, even on these forums.
Regards.

It's a lot of money if you don't have a job, are engaged in full time education and your parents aren't willing to fork out for a PC. That's your problem. Statistically they don't cost much.TheNightFather wrote:It's a lot of money if you don't have a job, are engaged in full time education and your parents aren't willing to fork out for a PC. Point is - if you can double, triple, or even quadrupole the amount of play time for 90% of your audience, but don't, that's a major herp derp.mars wrote:That's your problem. Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
Well, in my opinion the PC community is more mature than the console community overall.
And seriously, most of the great, big mods I've seen (and used) need special programs and plugins (OBSE for Oblivion, MGE for Morrowind..). Forgive me for being so skeptical about this, but what do you think that all those mods that aren't just meshes and textures will do? Some people are sure to use them for malicious purposes, like breaking the game, getting trophies/achievements (Yes, I know, that's not so bad), or maybe even botching with the other stuff on the console in question.
Mods on the console would be alright, but they really have to control it somehow.

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
Your point is valid but irrelevant. I never said that Bethesda shouldn't release mods for consoles. I merely said that PCs aren't as expensive as you said.TheNightFather wrote:

Don't worry Todd Howard , awesome as he is Will allow mods to be combated into the game.. except CoD ones.. In which case your computer or console shall explode.Knight wrote:Mods for consoles. 1. New Vegas was Obsidian, not Bethesda.
2. C'mooon, it's usually just a few seconds. Plus, seeing as it's a new game, you can just install it to make it load ultra-ast.

mmkay.. But still the rise in the loading times for RPGs is only ever going to get higher until the release of new consoles where you can control with your mind

Re: What don't you want in Skyrim?
Simple - you can only get achievements on Vanilla Skyrim. It encourages you to play the game once through without them - what everyone should be doing anyway. Besides - there are much easier ways to hack achievements than installing a mod to make the game easier. Like just plain adding them using a simple toolKnight wrote:Well, in my opinion the PC community is more mature than the console community overall.![]()
