Elder Scrolls VI - ? Coming 2016?

From what I know, Daggerfall came out in 1996, Morrowind in 2002 and Oblivion in 2006/07 for PS3. Skyrim is coming on 11/11/11, five years after Oblivion. Inbetween Daggerfall and Morrowind, there were 6 years, and inbetween Morrowind and Oblivion, there were 4 years, but 5 years for the PS3 version. My theory is that we will be seeing The Elder Scrolls VI - ? in 2016 or 2017. By that time, I'll be 18 or 19!

I know it's a bit early, but anyone got any other theories??? Do you even think The Elder Scrolls VI - ? will ever be released, and if it does, do you think that it will even be set in Tamriel???

Well, I'd very much rather have 5 big and exciting cities than 15 small ones that are hardly different from one another. 2014? I'd expect it around the time the new generation of consoles gets released.

I think Bethesda will focus on skyrim a little more efore they even think about another elder scrolls

^ Not to mention Fallout. I believe it's too early to think about this as well. I'm positive that Skyrim will keep me occupied for at least two years so I won't think about VI much. I'd rather they take their time anyway. I don't want Bethesda pulling a BioWare.

I'd rather wait 10 years for a damn good game than have the team work on it for 4 years and give us a game that might as well have come from a cow's backside...movies and games -> later is better.

I agree about the new generation console thing, and yeah, I really do think that 5 big cities is better then 15 boring peices of rubbish! I just wanted to spark some discussion I think 2014 is too soon though, but in 2016, give them 5 years, then TES VI will be awesome! Yeah, Bethesda will not even be thinking about TES VI yet, but still, I do think that 2016 seems like a year that TES VI comes out!

Oh really! That sounds awesome! If thats true then Skyrim really is gonna be damn epic!

If thats the case, then sooner rather then later, but then I need, say, 3 years to completely run Skyrim dry? So I guess in about 2014 would be good theoretically, but personally I still think in 5 years

They did start working on TESV right when they finished IV so you never know

They started putting out ideas on paper. The actual code writing and production started in 2008 after F3 was released.

mars' point is correct. Development takes two main stages. In primary development the main team (the God-Howards and the like) nut out the actual roadmap of the game and then they assign roles to the programmers and what not. The actually 'creation' of the game is stage 2 and follows the roadmap from the primary stage.

I think they'll work on fallout 4, and that'll be released 2014 or 2015, maybe even longer if a new gen. Of consoles is released before then, then a new TES, which will be another three years of development, plus a couple more if they decide to build a new engine to fit the new consoles, so you'll be looking at a new TES in 2019 at the latest, unless they pull a new vegas and let another company develop it, which i doubt, because TES is their baby. And no one could do it as good as BETH.
