Why have a box at all? What if the whole thing were described as the "Adventurer's Edition" and instead of a box you'd get the whole thing in a faux-leather satchel, along with a couple of extended in-world books (still got dibs on The Lusty Argonian Maid ;)) with a proper (gridlines and all) canvas map of Skyrim complete with a set of dividers for actually measuring distance, and a compass, all Elder Scrolls themed if possible of course. Maybe some other assorted adventurer's bits like some coins, and a glass soul-gem.
I'd happily pay over £100 for something like that.

A map of skyrim would be nice I could put it next to to Cyrodiil map. Maybe some neat looking armour and weapon to help you out early in the game but are pretty useless latter on.

I want a small unique plug-in. Maybe a special suit of armour or something. Physical things are cool, but I'm buying it for the game.

A Mehrune's Dagger letter opener would be cool... but that's probably more Oblivion and less Skyrim. :?

In one of the promo shots I saw there was a picture of a dragon sitting on top of a giant stone perch just outside a town. A statuette of something like that would be cool considering the whole dragon theme the game seems to have going on. Or a small figurine of a fully armored knight would work too. I'm guessing they've redesigned some of the armor-types and even threw in a few unique ones for the game.

Personally, I think a coin wouldn't be unique enough.

Now, if they'd done that with Oblivion... man, it'd be awesome getting Elsweyr early...

Do you not think Bethesda are leaving it a bit late? I'm personally getting anxious.

Doesn't the collectors edition get released a couple months after the actual game?

No Same Release Date, you may be thinking of the Game Of The Year Edition, all Bethesda Collector's Editions (Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas) were simultaneous and they're sitting on my self to prove it :L

All I want is an artifact shaped like a coin with an engraving of a dragon that can summon real life dragons at my command. All I need is that and I'll be happy.

Oh, is that all? :D
I want to see, of course, the fourth edition of the guide, a cloth map, an epic leather box, a stone dragon totem, a Daedric letter opener, interesting in-game armour and weapons, etcetera etcetera.

Agree but it won't be 4th Edition as the Septim Empire has ended, maybe 1st Ed of a new empire, still a Cyrodiil based empire made from teh remnant obviously

Again, wouldn't an actual leather satchel be better? That way you can use it for actual adventuring too :)
I do think that an adventurer's satchel type set is the way to go, as with the right mix of items (cloth map, compass/dividers, a book or two, some loose coins etc.) then they can capture the feel that you're actually sitting down to an adventure, rather than simply playing a game, and that experience is worth extra paying for.

I would love a map/artbook and the soundtrack included if they do a Collector's Edition. I'm checking the web everyday and hoping they will announce one.

I doubt the Imperials just dumped their entire system of governing because of a new family line. If the Medes (or whoever) are keeping around the dragon symbol (the Skyrim logo), they obviously want to keep the familiar feel of the Third Empire intact. Also, "First Edition of the PGE except not really" isn't a very catchy title if they do include one.

The skyrim logo is the symbol of the Akavir, where the dragons are also located, it may not be the symbol the empire at all. Anyway the title would be First Edition of the PGE, nothing more nothing less, how do we know the Remans didn't have one?
