This brings me further to question if vampires can reproduce.
It was thought impossible, but after the Grey Prince in Oblivion, who knows. He was obviously an Orc, like his mother. But he had some Imperial traits (greyer skin, etc.). Would you think that only the good effects of vampirism are passed to the offspring if only one parent has the curse? It would almost work like selective breeding, in a sense.
I would have thought vampirism was non-genetic being a disease, that's not to say diseases can't be passed on, but I'm not too sure that's just my gut instinct. I haven't seen any lore regarding this topic in my travels.

But it was the father who was a Vampire. Hmmm..
We obviously know from the game that it's possible.
So perhaps if the mother has the curse, the baby does receive more of the actual effects (both positive and negative), while if the father has the curse, then the child would only receive some physical benefit, with no disadvantages.
Maybe a bit to scientific for TES, but if you think that vampirism greatly changes your appearance, attributes and skills it maybe could be said that it alters the dna slightly to achiev this "improvements". So this can mean that if the father was the vampire only some of the characteristics, like the appearance, the strength are passed down to the child.

In lore it is a Daedric curse that effects one much like a disease. However, it is still a God-given curse.
Trelares, what you say makes complete since. That's what I was hitting on earlier. I don't think anything would be too scientific, considering magic is actually very scientific in some aspects- implosion, explosion, etc.

I think he was simply half-Orc / half-Imperial, siince Lord Lovidicus was Imperial.

They are certainly undead. The infected dies before they become a vampire. This is made obvious in Daggerfall, which places you in a crypt.
Well, no. Porphyric Hemophilia is the disease that kills you, which can be cured like any disease. But yes, curing vampirism involves resurrection. That's why it can only be done with witch/Daedric magic. The later games don't show this too well, but in Daggerfall you lose your reputation and essentially become a "new" person after you become a vampire.
Obviously, Daggerfall info might clash with the events of more recent games (such as the Grey Prince in Oblivion vs. "no reproduction"). In that case, the Daggerfall info shouldn't be viewed as 100% fact - although, to be honest, making the arena champ "the son of a vampire" is pretty cliche and shouldn't be viewed as lore-revolutionising stuff.
