Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I got out of school awhile ago.
My highest grade this school year, report card wise, was a 98 in history. I'm a history geek and proud.
(Even if I mix IRL history with TES history.... Sometimes... Maybe...
))
Um, today I did some DIY on an old jacket. Now it has as many safety pins on it as an 80's punk's coat while they rock out to Wumpscut.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Ha! Mixing TES history with real life history is awesome!
I managed to pass three of my history essays doing that!
Then the teacher asked me who the hell The Adoring Fan was, and what he was doing standing next to Hitler all the time...

Adoring Fan: "By Azura, By Azura, By Azura! It's Mein Fuhrer! I can't believe it's you! Standing here! Next to me!"
Hitler: "Beat it you peasant boy! I haven't time for your petty child games. Off with you!"
Adoring Fan: "Yes, oh great and mighty Fuhrer? Is there something you need? Can I carry your Luger? Shine your boots? Backrub, perhaps?"
Hitler: "Do you have no ears? Off you pesky child! Away!"
Adoring Fan: "Aw gee! You sure? Okay, well, I'll be hanging around Berlin if you need someone to worship the ground you walk on. Bye!"
Hitler: "Oh, Thank god."
Adoring Fan: "By Azura, By Azu-"

That was surprisingly close Weasel!
Expect it weren't a Luger, that bomb in his suitcase is what killed him...

And.... That's how the Beatles broke up. What?

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Well, this happened yesterday but I hope it's still valid
I performed my first solo navigation flight for flight school yesterday and it went spectacularly. (because of the fact that nothing went wrong
) I managed to make my flight plan so that it took me right over my parents property and i got to see my childhood home from the sky achieving a sort of life long goal. I told my parents what time I'd approximatley be there and they filmed me flying over at around 1100ft. I'm going home to watch it tonight

Wait? You stick to your flight plans?
No one sticks to flight plans... or was that just me?

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Oh, of course not
A few kilometers either way is fine, or if you need to adjust due to adverse conditions. But I didn't want to run the risk of anything happening on my first solo nav haha. I knew the area well so I wouldn't have gotten lost I just didn't want to deviate much and risk being late.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Oh if it was your first solo then yeah...
Though my instructor got a bit nervous when I made a slight detour on my first solo.
By detour, I mean drop behind a mountain range about fifty Km's out of the plan... Oops.

Well, I took 2 out of my 6 exams, and since it's exam week, I only had half a day.
From about 11:15am to 5:00pm, I was hanging out with the girl I like. We just walked and talked and Joked a lot. I learned a lot about her. It was really fun

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
My friend, for some reason, just snapped today and attacked his other friend who surprised him, then started crying. Then he calmed right down and was happy again. I still have no idea why (End of the year testing, whatever). But it's left me a little confused as to why he did it.

That is strange. I never really seen anything that like before (Not that extreme anyways)

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I had a very, very long day at work. I feel like that is how it goes - the days get longer, then the weeks get longer - but time flies so fast I am really surprised most days to say, "Oh, it is almost July already?" The funny thing is I remember being a child and thinking how awfully slow and long days were, and how all I wanted to do was grow up so I could do things. Now I hardly have time! Imagine that.
But the good thing about very, very long days is that it helps me think about where I am in my life (which I like) and where I am still going to go (which I like more)...so I came home today and officially signed up to take the GRE test. That is the test required to study for your masters or doctorate degree in universities, so it's a very big deal to me, especially since I am an academic and want to further my education so I can go back to teaching. I'm a little daunted but thankfully I don't have to take it until late September, which means I have lots of time to prepare, study, and chill out!
Hmm, all work and no play makes Avron a dull moderator. Time to catch up on my UESP reading!

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Something touching happened to me.
I was driving around, and it appeared an elderly man had pulled over with a flat tire and didn't have a spare or a jack. So, I pulled over, got my spare and jack, and replaced his tire. Then he offered to take me to lunch. I accepted.
It was a really heartwarming experience.

I just finished the last 2 of my exams, I’ve got a French Oral at 2:30 though.
Edit: Just finished the oral. The examiner was very pleased with my work. She said that it was good for me to throw in so much extra vocab including a lot that my year hasn't learnt yet (the conditioanl, tenses etc.)
