I'm wouldn't be surprised if they did. I don't think I'll play it though. MMORPGs tend to make it hard on my social life. I played EQ, EQ2, SWG, Anarchy Online, WoW... I'm kinda tired of virtual social lives. Don't get me wrong, I loved WoW and EQ, and even SWG a little. But I don't want to get back into the habits I formed because of my online games.
I liked playing Oblivion and Morrowind because they had a pause and a save button. The game world revolved around my world, and not the other way around.
I'd be dismayed if this were the case. I've never had an MMORPG game, and likely never will (just have no time to spare, let alone not having fast enough internet). If they made a supplement to Elder Scrolls that involved online gaming, I'd say "Go for it". But it might go the way soon that all games are online only........
Nothing has been either announced or confirmed about an Elder Scrolls MMO. Perhaps there is one being considered or in the works, but we don't know yet. Perhaps they are just registering names incase they decide to do it.
It is another part of BGS, and the name of Zenimax Online Studios has been registered. Ok, if there is going to be a TES MMO then most likely Bethesda will act in an advisary capacity, and it will leave them free to persue further ES games.
Let's not get our "knickers in a twist" and jump to the conclusion that TES V will be online. If a MMO is produced, you don't have to buy it if you don't like it, and I am sure there will be plenty for us RPG single character players with other games in the series.

And besides that, Mass Effect is shipping in a couple of weeks as well.
I don't like MMORPGs. Look how they butchered Warcraft. There will be no more games just for PC in the future. They will all either be on console (Wii, Playstation 3, XBox 360, etc...) or on the Internet. Neither are good options for me. I don't have any consoles and a very slow internet. Waaaah, I'm gonna be doomed if they make it on either of those.
i wouldn't play it , i hate mmorpgs because there will always be some fat geek at home or a 10 year old little kid calling u a noob or just bothering you
I would be alright if it had both an online and a single player version. The last MMORPG I had gotten into the same clan as another 9 year old who kept calling me n00b (yes with the zeros) and then threw a tantrum cause I had finally killed him because my character was 10 levels below his.
It's not worth it. For that last game I had I decided to make my own server cause I didn't want to hear any more "u'r a n00b" speeches from nerdy kids or strange adults that live in their parents' attic.

... or basements/garages!
Anyhow, the whole MMO-thing never really appealed to me. From my understanding there are often quests that can't be completed alone, or the fact that quests reset after a time so the next set of players doesn't feel left out. The whole concept of 300+ people swinging Umbra or the Sword of the Divine Crusader around doesn't really lend to the satisfaction of knowing you're the only person in the game that has a particular powerful weapon/armor/item. Imagine the deadric shrines quests... isn't there only supposed to be ONE Jabbawack (thank god!) or whatever? I don't know, it just doesn't seem like a format that would be appropriate for TES universe.
but anyway: if this topic evolves, and they do decide to make tes v an onlkine only-game, i plan to mention this thread and link it to some forums at bethesda. maybe if they see how bad it would be for them, they would change thier minds about online play only.
a long shot, but it could work
who wants top go ahead and agree to join me in the future that might possibly exist?
