Gargantuan Giants
I was watching this interview, and apparently Giants live in camps.
It got me thinking.. Exactly how should Giants be in the game? Should they be stupid animals, or very big, obtuse people?
Should they actually speak Giant..ish with eachother, or just grunt and roar?
I think it would be neat if there were big Giant tribe fights.

I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to attack a Giant. The one in the trailer looks like a peaceful, wise old mountain man taking his daily walk.

I hope we have some non-combat interactions with them, like doing quests for them or fighting along side them (Maybe a part of the main quest is to get them to join you in attacking the Dragons)

Giant tribeleader: "Wife's birthday coming up. You get sparkly stone for wife?"
*You should find a gem for the tribeleader's wife. Rumors say there's plenty of precious stones in Caerbannog Cave.*

Re: Gargantuan Giants
That was a good video! The guy is certainly making all the right noises, I must say I only got a glimpse of the Giant though.
In that video the dude did say that since Skyrim is man country there is undercurrent racism toward the Mer races, so if that is the case I'm sure giants would be on the hit list as well - I dunno, giants may react different to you if you were an Orc or fellow alienated race? More likely they'll try to smash your head in.

Giants aren't Mer O.o If anything I think Giants would be the least violent towards Nords, they could be a splinter race or something similar.Coupaholic wrote:In that video the dude did say that since Skyrim is man country there is undercurrent racism toward the Mer races, so if that is the case I'm sure giants would be on the hit list as well
That being said, I'm going to hunt them all down, kill them, and eat their corpses... Cause that's how I roll.

I shan't bother them. They seem likeable and remind me of a character in a book that I'm fond of.

I have a policy on games. If it attacks me, I attack back. Unless it's a rat or slaughterfish or mudcrab. Ew. I don't think the giants will attack unless I majorly [&@%!] it off.

Well Da_Boss, why do you want to loot them? After all, the loot you would come across is just pixels.

Very well-said (although said value is in pixels too)Kallan wrote:Pixel loot has more value than pixel murder has moral implications.Amusei wrote:Well Da_Boss, why do you want to loot them? After all, the loot you would come across is just pixels.
Anyway I think I'll be inclined at some point to try to wipe out a group of giants, in the same way I picked huge fights with guards and disagreeable townsfolk.

Re: Gargantuan Giants
They said some are agressive and some aren't. Nevertheless I will kill them all for loot and experience.
EDIT: Actually thinking about it... I guess I will mostly only kill the aggresive ones.

Re: Gargantuan Giants
I'll leave them be for all 3 reasons on the poll. Aggresive one attacks me, I run. I see a camp of giants, I walk in and start shouting "I AM A HIPPIE!" over and over until one turns aggresive, then I run. Btw, I'm not a hippie in real life, just my Breton characters...

The E3 demo-thingy shows that you can talk to Giants. I'm wondering what they have to say.

If they make a giant say "Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum" as an easter egg, I will be happy in life.

Re: Gargantuan Giants
I dunno. I usually only refrain from killing named NPCs in Oblivion, and non-hostile NPCs in Morrowind. But do giants count as NPCs? Never before have creatures behaved which such detailed AI. I guess I'll storm a giant camp at level 1, get pwnt, and spend the rest of the game ignoring the Thu'um and instead heading over to the Iliac Bay to learn some good old Giantish.
Oh! A giant camp player home DLC! Amirite? Maybe some lovely giant armour so I can mutilate them in style.

I think I would want to befriend one, so that I can use them or their mammoths as a mount (I'm too lazy to walk)
