I'm pretty sure its a Dunmer bc in the Skyrim issue of Gameinformer, it explains the player character chasing a dark elf bc he had stolen a golden claw relic of some sort

I've lost my temper and I apologize. I'm not going to argue this further because I feel I've been inappropriate to the parties involved.

Re: What is that thing?
The belt's clearly the same, you can see it from other angles in other screenshots. Clearly the wristguards are using the gauntlet slot, hence the Dragonborn in the trailer doesn't happen to be wearing any, just as he's wearing a different helmet.
And how isn't that a Dunmer's skin colour? Considering the wide variation in skin hues for Dunmer in Oblivion, I don't think you can argue that isn't the right colour at all. Doesn't look green enough to be goblin skin, on the other hand.
Anyway, logically speaking, it's more realistic, going by the available information to assume that's a Dunmer, given the current evidence, than to assume that Bethesda have randomly decided to turn goblins into NPCs, since there is no currently apparent reason for them to do this.

Why are you assuming it's an NPC? They're in a cave, quite simply it could just be a creature.Jingles wrote:The belt's clearly the same, you can see it from other angles in other screenshots. Indeed, it could be a creature. We have no proof that the screenshot was taken in the dungeon mentioned in said article.

Re: What is that thing?
Since it's wearing "people armour", for want of a better phrase, it's most likely (and I mean almost certain, really) the case that it's an NPC, even if that means in the sense that Dremora are technically NPCs.
The fact that it's in a cave makes it no more likely for it to be a creature than an NPC. Not sure what your point was there. There are caves full of bandits all over the place in both Morrowind and Oblivion.

Well, we can't exclude anything. So let's not be so absolute with our opinions eh? It only creates tension and heated discussion. Heated more than it should be.

Logic isn't particularly on your side. All I have to say it's not a Dunmer and there's nothing you can do or say.Jingles wrote:Logic is on my side, I will bury you!

Re: What is that thing?
If that is indeed a goblin... Why aren't it's ears pointy?
In all seriousness, I think it's neither a Goblin or Dunmer. I think it's to gangly and greenish to be a dunmer, and too humanoid to be a Goblin.
That is unless, of course, Bethesda have chosen to have more humanistic Goblins. They've been short and fat, they've been tall and skinny... Why not be in the middle now eh?

I spy pointy Dunmer-ish ears, I think.
At least, they look like pointy Dunmer ears. Either that, or that elf/goblin/thing needs a burger or the vampire cure or something.

Re: What is that thing?
In my opinion the armour it is wearing seems to be too barbaric and brutal for a dummer and seems somthing that an orc or goblin would wear. And that thing is green and i don't think there are any green dummer so i think it's a goblin.

Re: What is that thing?
Well as I've already taken great pains to point out, that armour is the same as the Dragonborn's in a bunch of other shots.
Plus I don't think the skin is any greener than this:

In fact I think the above is greener.

How is my comparision to an Oblivion goblin weak, but to you that comparision seems valid? Nice double standards there my son.Jingles wrote:Well as I've already taken great pains to point out, that armour is the same as the Dragonborn's in a bunch of other shots.

Re: What is that thing?
Please stop this argument. Now.
Both a Dunmer, a Goblin, an Orc or something entirely different are equally probable.

Re: What is that thing?
You literally claimed the picture was like an HD version of a goblin beserker. The comparison by itself was not weak, but it was weak in comparison to the screenshots I posted, after which almost everyone, including yourself agreed that the cuirass was the same.Malpais Legate wrote:How is my comparision to an Oblivion goblin weak, but to you that comparision seems valid? Here it's been claimed that the skin is too green to be a dunmer's when in actual fact Dunmer in Morrowind had, as I have illustrated with a screenshot, a skin hue almost identical if not more green than the image from Skyrim.
If I didn't know better I'd say you're just annoyed because I proved you wrong on the cuirass.

Why would I be annoyed about being proven wrong? I admitted to being wrong about the cuirass. *Shrug*Jingles wrote:You literally claimed the picture was like an HD version of a goblin beserker. The hue on the Dunmer you posted contains more blue than the "thing" in the screenshot for Skyrim.
