Re: Sexuality revisited
I can't say honestly. I've never actually been in a relationship with a guy. Just something trivial here and there. I think it would depend on the person.

Re: Sexuality revisited
Hmmm... Interesting. I'm curios to see what others say. I ask because I have never met anyone who is truly bisexual. I know quite a number of people who once claimed to be bisexual, but now that they're all out of their teens, they've all started calling themselves either gay or straight. The once I've spoken to about it - a smaller number, I admit - have also all said that even when they were calling themselves bisexual, deep down they knew that they were attracted to one sex far more than the other. Don't interpret this as me doubting anyone, I'm just stating my experience.

Straight, nothing against homosexual or bisexual people though. They are usually very nice people too

Re: Sexuality revisited
@Moeboid:There have been more girls in my past than boys. That might change however. I really don't know if I can say that I prefer one over the other.
I have more female than male friends. I can relate to girls easier. However in every relationship with a girl that I've had the girl was also my friend. My current girlfriend could be described as both my partner and one of my best friends. We took a break a while back and we had the exact same sort of conversation as we did before. Our relationship hadn't changed much apart from the fact that we weren't a couple any more. I feel that a relationship with a male would be different than that. It would be solely about the romance. I don't think I could stay friends if I were to end a relationship with a boy.
I hope you get the point I'm trying to make

Re: Sexuality revisited
Mars. That's quite interesting. The fact that there's been more girls than boys in your past could simply be because most people are hetrosexual... But then again, there's less competition when you're after boys so perhaps it's not so simple... Who knows, really. You describing your friendships and what a relationship does to them, while interesting, I don't think it really means anything as far your sexuality is concerned... You say you're bisexual and from what you're saying, I definitely believe you. You're in your teens, right? Even if so, you're definitely more confident about it than any teenager I've spoken to, so I wouldn't be surprised if your feelings stay around the same. If we're both around here in 5-10 years, I'll ask again and see if anything's changed :p

No, that's not what I mean. Of course I can understand that. But I'm not just talking about sex. Sexual attraction shouldn't mean anything, a real relationship should be about love.Lindai wrote:This whole concept of being strictly heterosexual(or homosexual) confuses you? I wouldn't agree with this, at the end of the day the birds and the bees can play a big part in a successful and happy relationship. Oh, and since I answered this question in detail like two weeks ago in the other thread, I'll just say I'm straight.

Re: Sexuality revisited
I agree with what Dean said above. I think your view is probably a rather romantic one, as sexual desire/lust often does play a major role in relationships. It's one of the most powerful natural instincts, and it's the mortar in the building of a lasting relationship, bringing people closer together(no euphemism intendedMaster Z wrote:No, that's not what I mean. Oh, permanent scars?JoeyDestructo wrote:Ya I found that out from my last girlfriend, I now have 10 claw-like scars running from my lower back to my shoulders.......hahahamars wrote:Pain can be applied without whips.

I've never left any permanent mark on my boy but I have been known to turn his back into an artwork of temporary scars.
He does have one, so far, lasting scar on his back but that's from his other girl so I'm totally innocent.

A love without sex is usually called a friendship, even if the people involved see it as more.Dean wrote:I wouldn't agree with this, at the end of the day the birds and the bees can play a big part in a successful and happy relationship. For quite some time now I've been bugged by the lack of words in regard to relationships. Love and friendship are not adequate words to describe the spectrum of feelings that can exist between two, or more, people.

Re: Sexuality revisited
There's love and then there's lust, often teenagers will say they're bisexual because they truly have no clue what their preference is and hormones added to the mix can have them looking for just 'sexuality in general' (if their community in open-minded enough); simply put, they're in love with lust. It's a difficult time of life, where you're developing physically, emotionally, psychologically, and socially, often relationships (or more likely, sex) are glamorized in that time of their life. Pier pressure, the community's level of tolerance (or lack thereof), raging hormones, all can make teens say they're something that they aren't (hiding in the closet because you live in a strict heterosexual community for example). Take me for example, when I was younger I thought I was bisexual because I've had experiences with both sexes, but it wasn't until I thought long and hard about it, that I realized that I'm sexually attracted to women, but I still have the capacity to enjoy being loved someone else regardless of gender. Who doesn't like feeling loved?Moeboid wrote:Hmmm... Interesting. I'm curios to see what others say. I ask because I have never met anyone who is truly bisexual. True bisexuality is loving someone for who they are, regardless of their plumbing.

Hahaha, I'm very strongly reminded of high school. I think that there's probably a lot of truth in that. Good observation. Well worded too.ChaosDawns wrote:There's love and then there's lust, often teenagers will say they're bisexual because they truly have no clue what their preference is and hormones added to the mix can have them looking for just 'sexuality in general' (if their community in open-minded enough); simply put, they're in love with lust. Re: Sexuality revisited
Why thank you
, when it comes to sensitive subjects such as this being able to articulate what you truly mean is key, lest we have someone misinterpret our meanings (leading down the spiraling path to lock-dom).
The teenage years of your life is more about exploring your body, trying to find where you fit in this world (joke not intended, maybe...) and finding where you stand in relation to everyone around you. Like I said to Troll hunter, "You're too young to be even guessing" (about sexual preference) and it can take most if not all your teenage life to figure things out, even then you might not know (or in denial).

Re: Sexuality revisited
*pats* Don't try to rush yourself, you have a whole lot of things to experience first, live your life, form your own ideas.
Life has a way of chucking curveballs at you that will shape how you feel on the subject and when the time comes, search within yourself on where you feel the happiest. And regardless of how cliché this sounds, don't lie to yourself, denial can lead you down a path full of self-hatred and self-destruction.

Re: Sexuality revisited
If you are born a man, but have a sex change to become a woman, but are attracted to women, does that make you straight??
this has puzzled me for the longest time!

Re: Sexuality revisited
No I don't think so. You have changed your sex and have become a woman therefore you are attracted to the same sex.

No. That would make you homosexual.JoeyDestructo wrote:If you are born a man, but have a sex change to become a woman, but are attracted to women, does that make you straight??this has puzzled me for the longest time!
If you're a woman, cis or not, and you like exclusively other women you're homosexual simple as that.
