Re: Does anyone Like Argonanians?
Yes, I like them because they look cool and have raspy voices.
Their "Immune to Poison" trait is very useful. If you want to be creative, you can lure an opponent to an Ayleid gas chamber, and let the noxious vapors do the dirty work.
The "Water Breathing" trait is fine. Since your opponent can't use ranged spells/weapons, summon creature spells, and most have to occasionally re-surface for air, then you could develop a strategy to take advantage of those restrictions.
I'm playing an Argonian right now, and I plan to test my "drowning" tactic. With the Truncheon of Submission and a potent Damage Fatigue potion, I suppose I could knock an opponent unconscious underwater, and theoretically, they would drown.

All-in-all, good idea.

I like them. They add some variety to the game. I am making a Machinima, and the BlackavarJr character is an Argonian.

Re: Does anyone Like Argonanians?
Hey Troll Hunter,
I tested my drowning tactic, and it worked. Though, it had one special condition.
Ok, so the tools recommended for the task are The Truncheon of Submission and a few decent "Damage Fatigue" potions.
The whole idea is to lure your opponent into a body of water and then knock-them unconscious. The "special condition" is that once they're knocked-out, their body will float to the top, and they will either be face-up or face-down.
If they're face-up, they will be able to suck air. To get them "face-down," make sure that they're attacking from above, so they're looking down at you, when they go unconscious.
The character that I used was a male Argonian, Lvl 12, on 75% difficulty. I did not wear any armor, only the same un-enchanted Sack Cloth Pants that you start the game with.
Normally, I would get my ass whipped against an Imperial Soldier, but my "drowning" tactic worked with ease. However, I would not recommend trying this on an Argonian, not unless you have a Summon "Great White Shark" spell.

Re: Does anyone Like Argonanians?
Obviously I do (though I favour breton mages).
Reasons:
1. They look cool.
2. They have some awesome Lore behind them.
3. For an assassin, water breathing can be fairly useful (hiding from enemies).
4. The Countess of... Anvil (I think) hates lizards. No wait, It's Bravil (I think). Her reaction is awesome.
5. Did I mention they look cool?

I've never seen or heard of an Argonanian. If I ever see one I'll tell you what I thought of it.

Re: Does anyone Like Argonanians?
At first I didn't play as one. But my last 4 files have been Argonian. Will def be rolling the same for Skyrim.
My current file took nearly 45+ min just modeling my current characters face just right, you could say I'm a fan. The results were mostly black/blue with a unique rainbow pattern on the face.

Re: Does anyone Like Argonanians?
My first two characters were Argonians and than a Khajit. I find humans and elves to be pretty boring in general and gameplay terms. I also think the back stories to the Argonian and khajit species are very interesting and I wish they played a bigger part in imperial society. Let them join the guard and be politicians and so on. I wonder how a khajit or argonian emperor would fare?
I find reptiles to be pretty cool as a species and I guess they can even be sexy in games/movies/literature if in anthro/bipedal form.

Re: Does anyone Like Argonanians?
I like Argonians, as much as I like any other race. I enjoy the fact of there being many different races, each with a unique culture and history and outlook on life. I am the kind of person who rejoices at the variety of the world, be it real or virtual. That's me
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.
I'm not inclined to resign to maturity.
If it's alright, then you're all wrong.
But why bounce around to the same damn song?

Re: Does anyone Like Argonanians?
Argonian is my current favorite race. As others have already said, they look cool, they have interesting lore, their homeland sounds awesome, they add variety, and well, humans are boring. And giving them pointy ears and calling them elves doesn't make them much cooler. Unless they're Dunmer.
And I don't really care about what a race is good at, if I think a race is cool but it's not too proficient in the class I want to play, I play it anyway. It's worked good so far.
Did I mention my first character in a ES game ever was an Argonian mage in Morrowind? Yeah, he didn't accomplish much, but it was still love at first sight (love for the game that is, not my character). Speaking of which, once I've grown tired of my current Morrowind character (which might happen pretty quickly unless I find one of those vampire clans soon), I think I'mma make an Argonian mage and infest House Telvanni.
So yeah, Argonians are awesome and yada yada yada.
