WTF! Plz Help! The Ultimate Heist.

heres what happened, i made it all the way through to the blind moth monk sitting and when i went to hit the lever, he moved and i hit "talk to blind moth monk"! a dialogue popped up saying that the monks were on to me and that i had to escape... so i went into the battlemages chamber and went down the fireplace flue. after i made it through the sewers into the elven district, i went to talk to the Grey Fox and he said "What you dont have the scroll? Then we have nothing to talk about!" i went back into the sewers and did everything over again but then when i went into the secret room under the statue that i opened with the arrow, it said that it needed a key which i dont have! i pickpocketed the count and about 6 guards but no keys worked (after i did everything over YET again)!! i fast traveled to the waterside area and got a copy of the black horse courier saying a break-in occured and many rumors were about a madman shining the counts shoes to a master thief after the legendary elder scrolls... after visiting my shack i emptied my loot and went to rest (for 2 levels) and next i was off to the grey fox. he said the exact same thing! i also tried the direct route straight through the front door in the palace... i still needed a key. i cant get grey fox to do anything and i cant get inside the palace either! my saves are all after my escape(i know im a dumbass) but theres nothing i can do about that! ive played way too much and too long to just restart a new character.

p.s. get to expert in illusion and head to raminus polus in the arcane university lobby...buy "Ghostwalk" from him at ANY price you can, it makes the ultimate heist seem like a walk in the park! you can honestly run through without sneaking! just dont attack...

Did you actually get the scroll?
You're NOT supposed to talk to ANY of the monks, EVER.

the monk moved when i went for the lever to open the door as stated...
so no i couldnt get the scroll because i was too busy running from the attacking monks when they were onto me!
sorry but im not dumb enough to Purposefully talk to one of the monks:!:

You should load an earlier game and try again. Restarting your character is unecessary. Worst case scenario you should use console codes to fix your situation. For example, you could knock back the thieves guild questline to the previous quest and in effect restart the Ultimate Heist.

my saves are all after i exited the palace
and im on the xbox360(sorry forgot to mention that) but the console is a good idea if i could use it

Then you screwed up, and can't do anything about it. Next game maybe. Always make a Full Save before anything risky.

An unfortunate way to learn that you need to save often and in different slots when playing Oblivion.
