Merchants

Post by Octane »

I need a list of wealthy merchants that have more than the standard 1000 gold. If you happen to run into one jot it down and then post in here and let me know please thanks.

I can only name one off-hand. A Fighting Chance in the Imperial City Market District has 1200 gold.

Also, if you can get mercantile up enough you can increase a merchant's gold by 500.

yeah the most money that any merchant has that i have seen is 1200, but if u get to expert in mercantile as previously stated, u can invest and increase their total by 500 AND if you get to master in mercantile they will have an extra 500 gold to deal with you (whether you invest or not, so that makes the max currently known possible money from a merchant 2200 gold)

I may be incorrect in thinking that the annoying fence (Fathis?) can get more than that. If not, he reaches that 2200 gold also, but that is moot since the Fighting Chance is that limit also.

The smith in Anvil (Moravyn's Peacemakers) has 1200 and only Apprentice mercantile skills, so I tend to unload my hauls there.

The top fence has 1500, so he'd conceivably max out at 2500 with investment and a master of mercantile, although he is pretty skilled so he can be hard to bargain with.

That list is still incomplete, though.

Yes, I know that the list is still incomplete. If you have the PC version you could just go on the CS and change the amount of gold for the merchants if you want to sell higher priced items.

I can't believe they don't have the barter system that worked so well in Morrowind. I have this enchanted Dwemer lobster fork, but you can't afford it. You have the Flaming Wand of Spicoli that I need so badly. Let's just trade, for the Blood of Leki!

Well first, the creeper was not a mod it was just a part of the normal game play. and there was also a mud crab merchant that you could sell stuff to aswell. You know that mods have to be downloaded.

Yea, I mixed things up. The original Creeper had only 5000 gold and I DL:ed a mod that gave him 100.000. That alone made the quaint house in Caldera (the Bank mod) worth buying.

Is there anyway to become a merchant yourself?

Yep, but considering that you -always- buy above base cost and -always- sell below it, that would bring colossal losses. Pity, because some items should be buyable for less than you could sell them elsewhere.

I have 360 and i've found that the Trader with the most money in the game is Aurlienwae @ the Mystic Emporium w/ 2000 standard, she's easy to haggle with but i don't think she buys all that much... The nest best would be Kafiz, the fence in Dunbarrow Cove (official mod) w/ 1500 who'll buy anything, but you have to buy him first for 1000

The trader in Mystic Emporium has that much gold thanks to Frostcrag Spire. The richest trader in the "vanilla" game is the last fence of Thieves Guild with 1500 gold.

Aurlienwae is the best from what I have seen. 2000 gold and easy to haggle up to 93% right off the bat.
