Re: power attack bug
Have you tried restarting the game? I had the opposite of this bug a few days ago and restarting fixed it.

Re: power attack bug
I've already turned of my computer and everything I've had this bug for a couple days.
Re: power attack bug
when you say that you can only power attack, do you mean that every attack is a power attack, or that you can only attack if you do a power attack (hold the left mouse button longer).
Do you have any other USB Controler Devices hooked up, that could be sending an incorrect signal, like a joystick, or game controler?
Have you installed any new devices, or programs in the last few days?
I would check you mouse button, and see if it is sticking, run a diagnostics if you can, or even reinstall your mouse drivers/software.

Re: power attack bug
I don't think I have a mouse driver software. But I have no other usb things other than the keyboard and the mouse, and I don't remember installing anything before the bug happened. And when I just click lightly I perform a power attack.
Re: power attack bug
I checked the .ini file, but didn't see anywhere that would allow for a permanent power attack.
I did check the options, from start-up menu, where you get to chose new, load, options. It might be your mouse sensitivity setting. Also check the keyboard & mouse setting, as you may have a mouse button set for attack, and may be hitting that key, as well as the LMB.
You could also try going into Control Panel/Mouse, and check the setting there. It could be that you have Click Lock on.
What about any new mods, one might have changed your settings?
Have you tried with a different mouse?
Sorry, it is hard to troubleshoot a system that you are not on, I am just tossing out some suggestions, so they are probably pretty simple sounding stuff, that you may have aready tried...
EDIT: Most newer PC come with the standard drivers, so you typically do not need to install them via a CD. However, there are some, that may have special features that would require a software CD. Also, sometimes you drivers may become corrupt, and you may need to update them.

Re: power attack bug
I've had the same problem. I've discovered when I uninstalled the mod "Adrenaline-Fueled Combat", the bug fixed itself. It could be an mess-up/glitch from that mod, since it asks you assign a key for power attacks. But of course, if you have no mods then this is a useless post.

I don't have any mods. However, only one of my players can only power attack.

Re: power attack bug
Then I'd say your savegame has been bugged. I don't know what could cause the bug though
