The reason Tamriel is referred to as Arena

Post by eatingrich »

Well when they were developing the game they initially called it Arena because of the planned gladiator battles, but when it became solo player they were stuck with coming up with a concept for 'Arena'.

Am I right in thinking that the story, that Tamriel is so deadly its referred to by the population as 'the Arena', is not mentioned in any of the other games after The Elder Scrolls: Arena? IE Its not mentioned in Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion?

Cheers!

It is not, Nirn is refered to as 'The Arena' in, Arena only. This was done as a quick, cheap way of making it all fit together since all the boxart and advertising was done for the game by the time they switched to the RPG.
