Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Zip arrived at a crowd of people grouped around what appeared to be the remains of a shop. There were people trying to keep the crowd back, mostly imperial legion soldiers. However, through the crowd, Zip saw an opening near a wall. She pushed past the mob, and rushed into the shop. Seeing an altmer with a knife over an argonian, she said "What are you doing?!?"

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Sayeal looked up at the Breton. She stood with her knife poised over her friend. She could easily see that it would look strange to the newcomer, seeming that she was preparing to kill the argonian beneath her.
"It's not what it looks like. He was injured, we're treating the wounds, but first we need to remove the bullets and shrapnel."
She stopped, eyed the newcomer warily and spoke in a very even tone:
"You don't, by chance, have any medical experience, do you?"

Antus watched Sayeal, preparing to do what looked like backdoor surgery on Leel.

Chevalier grabbed Antus’ arm. “Do not use such words as ‘telekinesis’ in the public!” he scolded. “There could be Witchhunters about! We do not wish for them to hear us speak of such things. Another fight could erupt!”
Chevalier, being practically blind, could not see that the man he was speaking to was in fact Antus Decanius - a Witchunter.

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Sayeal slid to the side. She motioned for the newcomer to take her place. In truth, she was a bit relieved that she wouldn't have to perform such a risky maneuver to save her friend. She was a bit skeptical of the newcomer, but she realized there was little that could be done. She calmly took a large dose of the paralysis poison and forced it down Leel's Mouth. It would effectively deaden his nerve endings, removing the sensation of pain for a time. It was normally dosed for her own body size so she doubled the dose before pouring it down her friend's throat. She calmly re-packed her kit as The newcomer went to work.
"Carefully Breton" she whispered softly. Sayeal had always had a tendency to dislike the Breton race. They marked themselves the master of magic, and they were indeed powerful in that regard for the fairer races, but the Altmer had always held that title and held it with pride. She often viewed the Breton as a bit full of themselves. She wasn't, however, petty enough to allow her feelings for the race as a whole to interfere with this particular Breton, nor would she allow Leel to die if it was within her power to help it.
She prepared to heal the wounds as the Breton began waving hands over her unconscious friend. She felt a small twinge in the back of her mind, a small feeling of warmth and peace. She smiled, allowing her gut reaction of mistrust to fade.
"Sorry. My name is Sayeal, Sayeal Bourdabas. I appreciate you doing this. She nodded at the Breton female and prepared to get to work.

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Krind, meanwhile, was struggling to keep the civilians back. He held two men - one in each hand - high in the air by their throats. “NO!!!” the gigantic man roared. “NO ENTER HERE!!!”
“Krind!” Chevalier shouted. “What are you doing!? Put the people down!”
Krind, listening to his master, released the two men. However, he did this by throwing them into the center of the crowd. This caused the mob of civilians to become angry, and they were beginning to throw small objects and stones at Krind and the Imperial Legion soldiers.
“Krind and I must depart soon.” Chevalier said to Sayeal. “Too much attention is being drawn to us. I do not want the people of this city to turn on the Rex family. Enough has already happened to put us in danger.”
__________
Lucien burst into his parents’ quarters. “Mother!” he shouted. “Father!” He had already dressed into his regular clothes with a small black mantle over his shoulders bearing the renowned symbol of the Rex family - a red fox surrounded by a golden wreath.
Franco and Isabel each lazily opened their eyes and raised their heads. “What is it, sweetheart?” Isabel asked, pushing her hair on her face behind her ear. “Are you alright?”
“May I go fishing in the lake?” Lucien asked. “I swear, I’ll be cautious!”
Franco nodded. “Very well.” he said tiredly. “Go! Go! But be vigilant! Take a soldier with you as an escort.”
Lucien smiled. “Fantastic!” he shouted. “Thank you, Father!” He left the bedroom, slamming the large doors shut behind him.
Isabel sighed and let her head hit the pillow. “Why do we spoil our son to such a massive degree?” she asked.
Franco chuckled and kissed Isabel on the cheek. “Because we can.” he said. “Besides, he deserves a bit of entertainment after the events of last night.”
Isabel giggled and kissed her husband back. “I suppose we were spoiled when we were young as well.”
The coupled laughed together. “Are you ready to get up?” Franco asked his wife. “It is a nice day. Fine weather.”
“Yes.” she replied. “We’ve been resting long enough.”
“Krind!” Chevalier shouted. “What are you doing!? Put the people down!”

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Zip sat down on the floor by the argonian, right where Sayeal was. Holding her arms over him, she focused on removing the bullets, shards of wood, and bits of broken glass almost completely enclosed by his flesh. And after a few seconds, the first bullet slid out, and fell to the floor. She continued.

Leel lay unmoving; between the substance which Sayeal had placed into his body, and the amount of blood loss he had sustained, he was only barely conscious.

Murtagh made his way through the market square, which was bustling with activity. The travelling market only came to Imperial City once a year. Most of the population stocked up with rare foods like Jam and brought exotic animals like Kwama Warriors.

sayeal watched as the first piece of shrapnel fell from her friend's body. She quickly and calmly healed the wound. She heard the commotion outside and heard Chevalier say he had to leave. She turned her head and nodded to him.
"Go. I'll meet you this evening, back at my house. My security should prevent anything like this happening there, so I'll be bringing Leel there to recover as well. Meet me just after dark."
Chevalier nodded and moved toward the door. As he moved, Sayeal nodded toward him.
"Chevalier, wait."
He paused and turned back. She stood up, keeping one eye on the progress on Leel should her healing services be required. She shook his hand, looking him straight in the eye.
"You strike me as a man of honor. Whatever it was that originally brought you here, whatever purpose you required of me, if it is within my power to comdplete it, consider it done."
She then turned back to her friend, healing another wound as yet another piece of shrapnel fell from his body.
"We will speak of the details tonight." she whispered as he moved toward the door once again.
She turned back to the Breton and the imperial still remaining in the destroyed shop.
"I don't believe I caught either of your names." she spoke with ice in her voice as she noticed the outfit the Imperial was wearing, marking him as a witch-hunter.

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Krind was holding a Bosmer woman in the air by her arm.
"KRIND!!!" Chevalier shouted at his giant servant. "PUT THE WOMAN DOWN!!!"
Krind did so by throwing her a few yards away into the mob of people.
Chevalier shook his head and turned back to Sayeal. "I ask nothing of you, Madame." he told her. "I only approached to warn you of the coming storm. Rancid times lay ahead. The Witchhunters and the underground Sorcerer factions are about to enter a state of public warfare. All we can do is prepare ourselves. I may visit later tonight, but if I do not, forgive me. I have become very busy with this world's modern nightmares becoming reality in one night."
Chevalier then turned and pulled Krind from the mob of civilians. Chevalier slowly got into the carriage, followed by Krind. Krind slammed the door shut behind him. The driver snapped the reins. The mob of civilians outside the shop separated in order to allow the carriage to move down the street. The moment the vehicle had passed, they regrouped.
With Krind gone, the Legion soldiers were struggling to keep the crowd of men and women at bay.

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
As Antus introduced himself, Sayeal smirked a bit at his adoption of the defensive stance. She glared for a moment.
"You won't report my use of magic... What a fool. I was hired by the witch-hunters for the simple reason that I can use this magic you speak of. Your blessed hunters claim that magic is evil, that the daedric lords are gone, and that the world without magic is a safer place, but they contain more magic users than the witch-hunters ever will. Murtagh is particularly potent with a fireball, for example. He roasted a vampire in the making a few years back. You say that your organization works toward the greater good. I have committed more acts of betrayal and subterfuge in my years of a witch-hunter as I ever did when I served my lady's side."
A slight tingling started in her head, revealing that she had perhaps spoken a bit too much. She briefly considered dropping the man, just on principle, but she remembered that she had seen him working toward saving her friend when she arrived. As she contemplated this, the breton woman spoke:
"My name is Zip, and who's this argonian that I'm pulling out glass and bullets from?"
She turned, her brief anger abated as she realized that her services were needed once again. She bent down, triggered her healing abilities once more, and closed another few wounds. The remaining pieces of shrapnel was thinning, she could only see a handful of peices left. She patted the Breton lady on the back and spoke calmly once again.
"He is a friend of mine. His name is Leel, Argonian and propeitor of this shop. I both fear and hope that he was targeted because of his connection to me. If it was the reason, I know why it happened and can deal with it. If not, I have to hunt down the one who hurt him and end their miserable life... slowly." She allowed lightning to flare up around her hand as she spoke the last word. She turned back to the Breton
"You have my thanks Zip. My plan would likely have involved a lot more blood and would possibly have killed the honorable man lying here before you. I am in your debt."
She turned back to Antus.
"Do you know the details of what occured last night?" she spoke quickly, once again hoping a brief flash of emotion would give him away.

He didn't like the look of Sayeal, or what she said about the Witch-hunters it was true that they had done horrible things, but they stopped magic from running rampant.
"Look Altmer, we seem to work toward different goals, I don't beleive the daedra lords are gone, I've seen a daedra so I doubt the lords are gone, we just try to keep magic in order, nothing else."

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Sayeal bristled at the words, but she did so with no outward sign. She paused and considered his words. He seemed to truly believe them, and with what he said of the daedra he obviously was not a stupid man. She supposed that for every sorcerer like Rex, with his head up his ass and a ridiculously high opinion of himself, there must also be a witch-hunter who truly believed in what he was working for, no matter how misguided he was in his beliefs. She supposed she might have been a bit harsh in her words. He had, after all, attempted to save Leel at great personal risk.
"forgive my harsh words, I sincerely apologize. Leel has been a good friend to me for several years, and I fear that I am, indirectly at least, responsible for what happened to him tonight. I have allowed my temper to control me."
she paused for a moment, looking Antus in the eye.
"I have spent so long hating your organization that I have forgotten your original purpose. Just as I don't condone, in the least, what Rex did last night, there are those like you who hold themselves to a higher standard as well. I stand by what I said, the Witch-hunters are hypocrites and fools, for the most part, but I had no right to take it out on you, when you attempted to help save my friend's life, a life threatened by those I once named allies."
She held her hand out, an offering of peace.

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Antus took Sayeals hand and shook it in response.
"I doubt you are responsible for Leels injuries, it was that pig, Bonaparte, and I plan on getting revenge as soon as Leel's recovered. Also, I don't plan on staying a Witch-hunter for much longer, I think the fight between the Rex clan and the witch-hunters is about to be resolved, after that i'll leave."
Antus looked at Leel, examining his wounds.
"We need to take him somewhere to recover, my house isn't far from here, we could take him there."

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Leel began to stir as Antus spoke; Sayeal's potion had by now lost its numbing effects. Fortunately, Zip had finished removing the bullets and larger pieces of shrapnel from his body. The only open wounds remaining were not life threatening; it would most likely be a waste of magicka to treat them, as casting such spells is draining on the body and mind. Basic medical supplies would do nicely.
Soon Leel was still again, having not yet regained consciousness. Dry, raspy breath came from his open mouth, and his eyes appeared sunken; he was becoming dehydrated due to blood loss. He would soon require fluids, namely water, to be returned to his body.

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Lucien sat at the center of a large fishing boat at the focus of his family’s privately owned lake on the woodland estate. Two of his father’s soldiers sat directly behind him with their weapons at the ready. Lucien’s dog, Hannibal, lay at the front of the boat, looking up at the boy. Lucien had a long fishing pole gripped within both of his hands. The line had been cast into the water. Being born into the Tamrielic aristocracy, Lucien was not very well-adapted to the wilderness or nature-related activities. As a result, he was a poor fisherman. Yet he still found it to be a fun activity.
“Do you think I’ll ever catch a fish?” Lucien asked one of the soldiers.
The Dunmer soldier grinned. “Perhaps.” he told the boy.
Lucien sighed and went silent, waiting for a fish to take his bait.

Franco had redressed into his usual clothing - a white shirt and handkerchief, a black vest and leggings, a pair of tall black boots and gloves, and a black overcoat with a black mantle bearing the Rex Family Crest. He was also carrying his silver ornamental cane with him once again.
Franco strode through the halls of the mansion with Isabel at his side. Isabel was wearing an expensive, vibrant blouse with a light blue skirt and a white feathered hat. Her long, beautiful brown hair flowed past her shoulders in a very wavy, formal, and attractive style. She also was wearing a pair of white high-heeled shoes.
“We should check on Lucien.” Isabel told Franco.
“Is assure you, my dear,” Franco replied. “Our son is completely safe. The soldiers patrol every inch of this property. Each of them are armed to the teeth. Even a rat could not slip through their watch without being torn apart by bullets.”
Isabel kissed Franco on the cheek. “I love you.” she said. “Just don’t be ignorant, Franco. Enemies were able to creep through our forces before. That was proven last night.”
“It will not happen again.” Franco reassured. “We were unprepared. Now, our men are ready.”

Chevalier’s carriage roared through the roads at the outskirts of the Imperial City. It slipped into the thick wilderness of Cyrodiil, making its way to Franco’s woodland estate. The golden light of the sun shined down upon the carriage, reflecting its light to the vibrant trees of the surrounding forests. The driver was surely enjoying the peacefulness of the wilderness.
Chevalier sat inside the vehicle with Krind on the opposite side. Krind was staring at the forest through the window in fascination. “What did you think of her, Krind?” Chevalier asked Krind.
Krind slowly looked at his master. “Who, Master?” the giant asked.
“Miss Bourdabas.” Chevalier replied. “What did you think of her?”
Krind thought for a moment. “Pretty eyes.” he said.
Chevalier nodded a bit sarcastically. “Pretty eyes…” he mumbled. “Is that all?”
Krind shook his head. He pointed to his own ears. “Pointy ears.” Krind told his master.
“You know, Krind,” Chevalier began. “I am absolutely flabbergasted by your intelligence.”

After dropping a few pieces of glass of the ground, Zip stood up.

Re: The Elder Scrolls VI: Apocalypse RPG
Sayeal released Antus' hand as Leel made the faint noise. She realized that for him to be making noise, her paralysis concoction had to have worn off. She also knew that a side effect of the poison was dehydration, as it forced the body to work overtime to keep the heart pumping. As she thought of this and reached back into her bag, Zip stood and wiped her forhead, she turned to the rest of the group and nodded.
"That's all of it. I think he'll need something for the pain though."
She nodded, and patted Zip's forearm. "thank you, he will need water also. I have a bit, but not enough to fully hydrate him. Could you get some for me?"
As Zip moved into the side-room, the room where Leel usually cleaned the guns, she found a small sink. She quickly filled a thermos hanging on the wall and returned.
"Here."
Sayeal nodded, taking the glass. She held it to her friend's lips and forced him to swallow. The brief bit of water entering his system helped him recover from the effects of the paralysis as well as the pain. Sayeal calmly channeled a bit of healing energy into him as he recovered. Moments later, he was sitting up, drinking of his own accord. He moved to stand and Sayeal patted his arm...
"not yet my friend, you have just suffered a very brutal attack." she turned to the large Imperial behind her. "This is Antus, a witch-hunter. He has offered us a place at his house, but I personally believe that my place would be safer, especially if my wards have held."
she gestured to the Breton next to her. "This is Zip, the fine lady who removed the shrapnel from under your skin. She saved you from my clumsy hand with a knife, to everyone's relief."
she stopped and turned to include everyone.
"I propose that we move to my home, in the elven garden's district, but I have little means to get us there. A horse and carriage would attract too much attention, and it is much too far to carry you on foot." she gestured to Leel as she spoke the last words.
It was only then that she noticed the commotion outside, as the imperial guards were working to keep the civilians out.
"any way that would require us not exiting through that door would be preferable, of course, I've little time to deal with Imperial guards..." she paused momentarially. "or civilians"
