Yeah how was that expedition of Akavir going for him? My guess, he got eaten by the first Akaviri he saw. Even if the Nerevarine came back they would still be in pretty bad shape. I doubt he could unite them even if he did come back.VirtualWeasel wrote:One word. Nerevar.AKB wrote:1. Your gods are gone. Re: The Race Debate!
Okay now it's on. Three things:
1st: Bethesda will not kill off the Dunmer (or any of the 10 races) in the foreseeable future. They don't want to screw with Tamriel too much.
2nd: I refute your claim that the Dunmer could not make a comeback. The Dunmer don't need allies, we just need to unite against the filth that struck us in our darkest hour. We don't need gods, we need heroes and leaders that will inspire us to return to our former glory.
3rd: I doubt the Dunmer have lost all of Morrowind. It's probably more like Central and Southern Morrowind. The Argonians probably won't have made too many successful ventures into the Redoran and northern Indroil lands due to the geography and climate, and the fact that the Dunmer would have had a bit of warning before they arrived there unlike their unfortunate Dres cousins.

As far as i can tell form the book
they lost it all
the fractions where at war and when the moutin blew it caused a lot of problems most of all
was almost all of the dark elfs where leaving mowrind
so there would not be that big of an army waiting for them
plus IIRC earthquaks hit to
The Argonians are natural in their natural habitat but tilde waves flooded places
there where alredy swamps there
and there where a lot of them
so all in all I';m incvlined to belive the dark elfs are gone form morwind at least in any num, bers that can poser a threat but they will be back

Re: The Race Debate!
My rep- wait a second, why don't we actually have a thread discussing this kind of thing (The fate of the Dunmer)? It comes up in nearly anything that gets close to the subject, so why not focus on this subject itself?
1. I never said they would kill of the Dunmer, I was obviously joking about the golden statues thing (A very useful resource, after it was discovered that general contact with the statues cured all diseases and made you immortal, without any downside like with vampirisim). Besides you don't need a homeland to still be alive, you will just be more scattered.
2. The Dunmer could make a comback if they united I admit. But that hasn't happened since the war with the Dwemer, which ended with them becoming even more divided. Dres died because of this split, and other weaker houses like Indoril (With the downfall of the Tribunal they would be crippled) falling, weakening the whole people.
3. Even if you still have some major holdings in Morrowind you are still in horrible shape, your peoples birth place is gone, and you are under siege by the races you regularly enslave. That likely means that the slaves rose up against you, meaning the entire land is at way against the invaing Argonians, and the Argonian slave rebels.
Edit: To reply to the above, it is an Oblivion rumor. It is not guaranteed he is gone, but it is likely. Also what good would he be after Morrowind? He wasn't mentioned to have done anything between the time where the events of Morrowind occured and Oblivion did, so best case scenario he is retired, or lazy.

Re: The Race Debate!
No, I've read about the expedition to Akavir too, but the Nerevarine is not the only Dunmer figure capable of being a hero and leader.
@Wolfie: I don't know, the swamps were in the deep south of Morrowind (see early Bethesda concept work @: http://www.imperial-library.info/sites/ ... rowind.jpg) and even though the natural disasters were horrific, I don't think that they could have altered the terrain so severly that the Dunmer lost their 'home-field' advantage. The erruption may have actually turned out in favour of the Dunmer.
P.S. Perhaps we should move this debate to a new thread in the lore section?
Edit: you guys beat me to it. How about my thread on the future of the dunmer: http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=21591

Argonian, unless Beth screws up their looks somehow.

As a norwegian I'll definatly go with a Nord dual-wielder on my first playthrough. Race based my people FTW!
Second will probably be Khajiit or Bosmer assassin.

Bosmer or Bretons, I guess. Maybe Altmer, if I plan to play pure magic from the start.

Re: The Race Debate!
You know, we were considering giving up the invasion of Morrowind, indeed we were just about to start a meeting on this subject. Why would we need the Dunmer Nation when we have our lovely swamps to live in you know? We were going to pack up our bags and take our Golden Statues and go home to Argonia. The meeting was a formality, the war wasn't a very popular one with the common Argonian. I called off the meeting, the war will only get worse for you Dunmer fiends from now on.TheNightFather wrote:Argonians are stupid, lesser races who will most likely go get high off hist sap and die.

Argonian for me! At least on the first play through as they're my favourite race. I'm hoping they'll be more beast-like again in Skyrim, though even if they're still similar to in Oblivion I think I'd be happy.

I didn't claim you were joking. The whole enslaving your people, raping your women, it was all just a friendly joke, picking on the new guys. We did it to the humans as well, you don't see them starting revolutions. Silly lizards...

Re: The Race Debate!
Oh, I get Dunmer humor now. Want to here a joke? It involves me bashing your cursed head in and feasting on your brains. You just don't know how to not [&@%!] off the stronger race that currently wants to kill you all do you?TheNightFather wrote:I didn't claim you were joking. By the way, lore wise, you are wrong. The humans did rebel (See the freaking back story to the Empire) so you can't say that they were compliant. Also the beast races came first, so you can't call us the new guys. It would be more equatable to the new kid on the block cutting off your fellow hatchlings scalp and selling you and your kin into slavery. What I'm saying is that you have permanently aggroed the beast races, and we will not be satisfied until every last one of the most cursed race is dead. Oh right, I forgot to mention, that joke about how we can't take a joke like Azura when I replied to the whole hist tree thing, they are kinda our gods. So what you just did was the verbal version of what you did to Azura (Mock her and insult her to the point redemption was impossible).

The humans rebelled against the Ayleids. And as we saw, the Dunmer were changing. We outlawed slavery. And in return, you decide to start killing people. Well done *claps* You've just confirmed yourself barbarians. Now, go back and play with your ball of yarn, or whatever it is you beast races do, mkay silly bear?
