but isnt that why there are mods? to help us stay on track? When the inevitable happens and it starts getting to spammy again I would think that another mod would come on and guide us in the right direction.
I know I havent been here long, but that seems to make sense to me.

MoonRose is right on the money. Besides, I'm not asking for a complete change. I'm asking for you to tone it down a bit. I don't want the Offtopic thread to die. It's still the place to come to when you need to get something off your chest, and it's still the place where you can create bonds with other members.

And I'm sure everyone knows where the line stands between banter and mindless spam. You can help us moderating.

Well, yes, but that's the type of discussion we want here. We don't want random spam, and you seem to be saying that cutting down on this won't work.

I'm completely with the moderators here. Posts that just say, "boogabagbigaboo" should stop. It doesn't contribute. But this place, I do agree, is definitely a bonding ground for members. I know I got to know most of you guys here.

I'm all for change in the off-topic thread. Even if one-word posts or whatever don't really bother me. But, due to the nature of the off-topicness. People will forget. Spam posts will happen, even if you don't want it.

I hate to backseat mod or anything, but I think Nunu's right. I've always enjoyed banter and conversations here, but it's not nice coming here and seeing three new pages of nothing after an hour. You'll remember that Cam put down a rule for this thread as well, so it's nothing new.

I think what nyk45 is saying Mucro is that spam posts will happen, because this is an offtopic thread. they are just asking us to try to cut down on them is all.

I can't say I'm completely innocent when it comes to the activity of this thread. Since I don't really have much of a life outside of my computer (and I've been on vacation this week), I'm on the forums pretty much from when I get up till it's bed time. And I'm not really active in the other subforums. So I'm in this thread chatting with people all day.

The off topic thread is now essentially a thread about how the off topic thread is too much of an off topic thread.

The meta makes my brain bleed...

Ontopic(?), I think that the point of the off topic thread is to talk about things that aren't important enough to make a new thread. And I liked the point that someone (KalleFlaxx?) made about how people can't get drawn into conversations done by PMs. Just my two cents.
