I am straight. I admire women for their beauty, but I do not feel attracted to them. I have many friends who are of different sexualities though...and I think nothing of it. It's very common to me in this day and age, and I think the world's a better place for it.

PS: Thank you guys for all being so respectful throughout this thread! This is exceptional and it makes my pink heart all aflutter with admiration. Let's keep this positive and open outlook on all threads throughout the forums!

I'm straight, but it took a lot of soul searching to come up with the realization that you can't ignore attraction and love is between two people with no basis on gender, class, color or creed. Sadly I live in an area where love between people of the same gender is mocked despite the fact that there are a lot of homosexual couples, where I work, in hiding or ignored(not hiding as in 'running from a mob', just secret).

side note: I applaud this corner of the internet for its lack of trolls/haters, where the free exchange of ideas and ideals can actually be spoken/written without the mob-mentality filtering what you're willing to say to people you've never met without free of ridicule. UESP, I love you.

Normally, when attraction has 0% to do with gender, people call it pansexual.

I hate to break in here, but the word pansexual actually has another meaning than mere attraction, but having all forms of sexual interests as well... in which case I think bisexual is a better word if you aren't into a multitude of ACTIVITIES but are just into various people. I realize people use it for the attraction thing but be aware that many consider pansexuality as MORE than that - and you can be homosexual AND pansexual in THAT context.

Heh, I think pansexuality is mainly an attraction thing, but it just voids the general gender and race constraints. Meaning, that you looking onto someone in a purely objective way, not letting any outside influence affect you.

Also, when I meat race, I meant the human race. Hopefully you can work out what I meant. Fun fact: Commander Shepard is pansexual.

The only context I've heard someone use "I'm pansexual" in is in regards to personality attraction- Though I know of the other meaning.
I mostly only hear/read it in a discussion concering trans- or genderqueer, but I think the only difference is that personality attraction is more aimed towards romantic ideals and the other is really only used when someone wants to mean more.
