How will you play?

Re: How will you play?
I'll probably have fun and dungeon delve for one or two dungeons, the venture off to join a guild.
I always end up putting the Main Quest off, I like to develop my character a bit first.

I think i will explore the world first maybe fight a dragon, meet some people , starting some tavern trouble , and then the quests. Maybe the Main Quest first.

Re: How will you play?
yeah, I saw that he's pretty fire proof lol tho he probably just had a load more health than the dragon's damageTheAllSeeingEye wrote:If you watch the trailer you may notice that the character isn't affected by the dragon flames. Dovahkin are immune to them I think, but anyway it is magic fire not physical fire so may be treated differently.Mattbott wrote:i usually don't fast travel until i've opened up a lot of the map, but i dont see the choice to use it as 'anti immersive' or 'anti rpg' in any way whatsoever
actually, one thing i'd like to know about people's playing styles for skyrim , is how will you deal with the dragon breath/cold weather thing? It'll be a land of extremes, Nords will presumably be cold proof and Dunmer are 75% fire proof, so these two races seem to be better suited to what we know about Skyrim, but will this affect the way you make your charcters?
Chances are we won't get frost damage from standing in snow so we don't really need to worry about that either.
blizzards might cause damage or being out in the cold night, i remember the frost atronarch quest in oblivion where you're finding bits of crystal for a gem collector (or something) and you get cold damage
they'd have to be careful, i lost a vampire save in Ob once cos he was on low health stuck outside in the sun; being trapped in a blizzard would be risky as well

Re: How will you play?
The more I've thought about it, the more I'm thinking I don't want to play as conventionally as I thought. The problem is, with 7 months to go I just can't stop imaging characters, and while making them in oblivion and morrowind is all well and nice... I don't wanna wait!

Cant vote for some reason. I would have chosen "Goof Off-No fast travel", basically just RP around.

My first character is always a "test the water" guy, figure out the mechanics, where I can get/make gold early on, artifacts of importance. My second guy is min/max.

I'll probably get out of whatever CharGen prison they've got lined up for us and then just wander off in the most interesting looking direction. I'll likely end up trying to climb a mountain or something - after all that's the first thing I did in Oblvion.

Re: How will you play?
Like in Oblivion, I'm going to follow the main quest line first just to check it out, but I won't use fast travel much. But, honestly, I'd be spending most time in character customization.

Re: How will you play?
As I did in oblivion:
1.run around the border-line of skyrim taking in the scenery.
2.steal peoples pants until I get put in prison
3.Escape out of prison
4.Live my life as the infamous pants stealer >_<
I'm pretty proud of the fact I stole everyones pants in oblivion

I think animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Re: How will you play?
I can't vote either, just tells me submitted form was invalid.
As for what I would vote for... that's a really tough one! As I generally like to do just little bits of everything, so I might do the first couple of main quest stages, and hopefully in doing them I'll have picked up some side-quests from any areas I've visited so I might bounce over to work on some of them or looking to join a guild. So I'm afraid your poll doesn't really have the right option for me at all except maybe goof-off!
As for fast-travel; the feature is pretty much necessary, as forcing people to walk everywhere would be horrible. However, I usually prefer not to use it except for back-tracking, as I like to try and prioritise my quests by how far away they are, or pick an important one and try to work on any quests that have objectives off in the same direction. I don't do this in an over-complicated way so I will of course make mistakes and forget to do a particular quest's objective, at which point fast-travel is great, but I do enjoy travelling normally for the most part, with the except of bouncing back to my home to drop off particularly heavy loot that I can't sell nearby or just want to keep.

Re: How will you play?
I'll just do what ever after I escape, I like exploring, but that's really for finding New Areas, every now and then I'd go on the road on my horse and go from city to city. But honestly if I need to get from one end of the map to the other mid-quest, forget it. I'm fast-traveling I'm impatient when it comes to things like that especially if its a side quest. I guess I semi-role play I like to just go from town to town doing quests before I jump into the Main Quest. I like making different characters for different guilds rather then One guy for everything.
Ill go on the roads and travel a bit the first time I play though. I don't think Ill see the citites first, hopefully they make it Like SI where you had to find the cities and then you could travel there, it made it much more fun. I liked being forced to around Black Mountain or avoid Deathclaws just to go to New Vegas.
