You laugh, but I've seen it happen to a solid RPG before.

Honestly, once I figured it out, I liked the leveling system in oblivion. Made me pay more attention to what I was doing in the game

Basically what everyone has stated so far...But since I'm too lazy to read through everything, I'll add things I find particularly important that might've been skipped.

- A lack of spells/advanced spell system
- A lack of adoring fan
- A lack of voice actors/competent voice actors
- Horrible dialogues
- The need of firing 100 arrows/100 fireballs/100 sword thrusts in order to bring down a "normal" enemy (although I've heard they're going to fix that)
- Bad/short main quest. This story has a lot of potential, as long as we skip the usual "rawrgh me smash everything cuz i is evil" main villian. Let us choose sides in the civil war or if there'll be a war at all.
- A lack of Norse/Nord culture. This was the best thing about Morrowind, you were a stranger and had to get accostumed to their rules, views and way of life in order to survive. Period.
- Horrible attempts at trying to use a Danish/Icelandic/Norwegian/Swedish accent.
I used to make polls, but then I took an arrow in the knee.

But we had crossbows in Morrowind and none in Oblivion.......and there are Dwemer crossbows in Morrowind....let the implication of that sink in......are we devolving?

Somehow technomagic doesn't bug me as much as it used to maybe because in a world with magic, the next logical use of magic, beside lighting each other on fire, is to incorporate it into every day life. But hopefully not in ES, why? no idea

By making it like Bruma instead of Solstheim.
If they weren't nords, but instead dunmer or redguards, nobody would call them "racist".

But we know that there are Dwemer ruins in Skyrim........I hope you're not saying that Nords are so stupid that they can't even adapt technology from something lying around on their front step.....I mean if it was like something crazy advanced I could see them not having a clue, but a crossbow would look familiar to people who use bows everyday...

Oooooooohhhh. I see what you mean. Then in that case Skyrim will very likely have crossbows...

Agreed. We do not need TES to turn into a frickin MMO.

also NO GUNS!!! I mean why bother developing a gun that shoots a small chuck of metal into a person that (if it wasnt a shot to the head) could instantly heal the wound and then snap their fingers and light the entire field your standing in on fire? it just isn't worth it. at at least with bow you can poison them.

This being said nothing will stop me from purchasing this game and playing it til i die of old age.

If the strength of a dragon will be depending on my level. I would turn off the computer, cry a bit - and turn it on again.

A bug encountered in Oblivion whereby if you clocked up serious amounts of gameplay for one character(around 350 hours) animations would go very slowly. Doors could take 5 minutes to open etc. Can be fixed on the PC I think, but not on the consoles.

It would almost never be ruined, only if they made the map as small as Imperial city island,
But I hope Roleplay will be taken into mind, or a hardcore mode.

If the game was in real-time with no wait function and you started the game as an infant.

If they spent more time on all these nifty new features and less time on the important basics, as in the main plot, key characters and sub plots. The main thing I enjoyed about Oblivion was the freedom, the variety of quests and the rare handful of quirky characters.

If they announced there would be no levitation, I may end up turning my back on it. At least some sort of flying may convince me to grudgingly buy it used, but levitation would be preferable.
