Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
My first character will be Jillian, an Imperial Female (My usual first character since Morrowind).
I'll play her "naturally," as in making any choices and using whatever comes to me, instead of RPing or designing a set-up.
This means she'll probably be using dual Longswords, wearing Heavy armor, using Restoration and doing the "good" guilds and generally being helpful, and also doing the main quest at some point.
My second character will be basically the opposite, Light Armor, Illusion magic, Daggers and bows, and sneak. An assassin/thief type to do the "bad" guilds and ignoble deeds. It'll probably be an Imperial or a Breton Male with a rockin' beard.

Once I see how magic works, and if I approve of it, I'm going for a full-on mage character. Non-Nord, and with some kind of shady backstory.
Don't mistake lack of talent for genius.

Oh yeah, Taters reminds me.
If the game has Telekinesis as something actually useful, I'll make a Jedi or a Sith, crash landed on this planet and making the most of it.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
In both Morrowind and Oblivion my first character was a Male Nord. I always favor melee my first playthrough of most RPGs where it is an option. Most likely specializing in Blade, block and armorer. I imagine, in light of the game actually being set in Skyrim, I will start with a Nord this time around too.
My second character will probably depend on how the first playthrough goes; you know, experiment with the new combat/magic/stealth systems a little. I'd like to try a dark elf with a magic/melee combination. The dark elves were always good for that kind of play style. Eventually I would probably end up doing pretty much every other combination of races and combat style.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
(i was thinking this before reading this thread don't worry)
A Male Nord named Hlofgar
Warrior birthsign
And pretty much the Warrior class from Oblivion, but replacing the hand to hand with destruction.
Also, he will like to drink. And hunt.
I was an Imperial most of the time in Oblivion, and I started out as a Dark Elf in Morrowind.
So I guess I will just do the race that fits the game itself.
After my first playthrough I will probably make a High Elf mage or something not sure yet.
But I know I won't be playing as a wood elf. Imagine being one of those things yelling at dragons....
EDIT: My character will also be a descendant of my Oblivion Nord character, who married the Battlehorn Nord maid.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
I've changed my mind.
The first character will be a Dunmer Nightblade as usual.
Some time later I think I'll try a Breton Battlemagish one.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
Name will likly start with an "A"
She'll be Imperial
Might be "he" most likly not.
Fighter type, proply duel short swords or long sword.
Resteration?
And whatever else the game has.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
Since Im a RP nerd, my main hero will be a relative of my character from Morrowind/Oblivion. I had not intended to do that, but I figure instead that the bloodline is special. (Every main TES hero is related to the others)
Since they are dark elves, and Skyrim you are Dragon Born, I traced the ancenstry to include Empress Katariah.

Vermundr, the Nord warrior. Perhaps dualwielding would be fun? Sword and axe or perhaps a shield so I dont get bored.
If spears are in though I will use them instead.

Probably my usual thief turned reluctant hero. Big on stealth of course.
Some say I never blink, and that I roam around the woods at night foraging for wolves...

Oh, I can't believe I didn't say this earlier, of course one of my characters will be Thor, Mighty God of Thunder, a lot of lightning spells and of course, some truly righteous hammers, Mjolnir evolving, you see.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
I like to do tributes towards characters I've read in books:
-My first character will be called Kaladin and is a character from Way of Kings. He practically uses pole arms with magic (mostly conjuration and alteration with a bit off destruction) in light and/or heavy armour.
-My second charcter will be called Will from Ranger's Apprentice. He practically uses Bows at a long range, dual wields a short sword and a dagger at close range and is a master of being super sneaky in a cloak.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
Probably a spell sword, with an axe instead of a sword. It will really depend on what each weapon looks like, and sword in the game play trailer didn't look I'm-going-to-kill-you impressive.
I'm not arrogant. I'm insecure.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
Female Bosmer named Salem.
Agility and Intelligence as main attributes.
Marksman, alchemy, sneak, security, acrobatics, light armor, and personality as her major skills.
This would be perfect for me because I usually play the charming assassin type.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
after searching the wiki page to good nord names i'm probably going for something like ragder or hefgor or some other nord name.
and as last name i will go for the bias.
ragder the bias.
how does that sound.
ragder the bias, got arrested for what ever and releashed for some other reason, and than saves the world with his awesome norden strength and dragon shouts.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
If people don't insult you for having a lot of infamy, I plan on a bosmer who's skilled in dual wielding blades and marksman.
If they /do/ hate you, a barbaric Nord woman who uses axes. Name not decided, but she probably won't use armor and will just run around half naked.
And if I get bored of either of them, a Breton mage who knows how to soft talk to get what she wants.
If any of that fails, and I get really bored, a dunmer jack-of-all-trades that hits people with a stick after shooting them with a bow/blasting them with fire.
But I'll make a homicidal maniac as well, whose soul purpose is to kill a bunch of people. Bosmer man who's based off of Glarthir. Won't do anything that doesn't involve killing people withfire warhammers or pole arms.
And if I really get bored, on a twenty-somethingth playthrough, I'll download a drunk mod and make an alcoholic Nord man name Steve the Stern, or Steve the Stripped...Or Steve the Stripper.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
My first character is going to be a descendant of one of my Oblivion characters Sigrún the Wolf. I got the name for Sigrún from norse mythology, she was a valkyrie and when she died she was latter reincarnated into the valkyrie Kára. So my first character will be a nord girl named Kára the Wild. She is probably going to have an axe and a shield, and not be as grumpy and terse as her ancestor, although her reason for being in jail will probably still be the result of a bar fight.

Re: Describe you're planned character(s)
A shriek! As Daglin turns around he finally gets to test his new shiny axes he just spend all his gold on. He leaps forward and thrusts his arms downward. The axe in his left hand chops off the goblin's right arm with a clean cut and the axe in his other hand cracks through its skull. As the goblin stops moving he pulls out the axe that is stuck and thrusts again with his other arm. "Thoust shall be screaming no more little pest!" - Dalin screams as the head of the goblin rolls off the hill.
