Whats you favorite secret?

Post by Flairinsich »

What is your favorite secret of the game? Could be a glitch, Item, Person or place. Just throw them out there.

Mine would have to be either the glitch to get to the secret vampire lair in Skingrad or the lost scroll in RoseThorn Hall.
If somethign doesn't look right look at it again.

But if you do that you waste more of you life.

I doubt I was the first to discover it, but I know I was the first to put it into the wiki: if you have the Dodge ability that comes from an Journeyman-level Acrobatics skill, you can disarm a nocked arrow and save the magical charge or dose of poison you may want to keep after finding out that your latest victim decided to die earlier than you preferred...
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

It's like this sword you find on top of a Fort that points you in the direction of treasure. Pretty cool secret and the treasure is leveled. Can't remember the name of the fort though,if it had a name.

I really liked the secret grotto underneath Battlehorn Castle. Although I knew about it from the start, it's fun feigning surprise every time a new character discovers it.

Another Glitch/secret is if you have the Frostcraig Spire DLC you can get into a testing chamber by deleting the DLC while under a certain pillar. And in this test chamber you can get the mace of Doom and also an infinite supply of sigil Stones. Although getting the stone also gives you 1 renown everytime one is put in your inventory you can also be seriously over encumbered because it puts tons of sigil stones in a short time and as long as your in the room with the stones you keep getting them.
If somethign doesn't look right look at it again.

But if you do that you waste more of you life.

Its deadly. I remember when I first discovered it. I accidently duped some torches in front of the Arena. then spent hours trying to figure out what I did. Then I remember going on a dupe rampage. burying sleeping NPC' in mort flesh... my game was so laggy :P

He...stores items?!

I saw him while adventuring (LONG before doing the DB quest). I should of took it; wouldn't been considered stolen neither for some reason. 8)

Hatreds soul and the secret tunnels to Embers of Hatred. The other sunken tower - Quake Ruin, also nice!

I just like .. finding the little pretty or fun spots where the developer put something neat. A drunk goblin? An elegantly placed bit of landscape decorating? They are not that secret, but they are subtle. I like finding stuff in games off the beaten track, but Oblivion's nature is not to hide those things from you, where other games force you stick in specific zones.

OH
In the Oblivion planes there is a random cave set called Fume Vaults (subsections are the Molten Halls), in one, there is a tower base. If you look at your local map, it seems it is more than a base... and if you use the console to get a view outside the tunnel, you'll find that there IS a whole tower underground, inside the cave. Probably my favourite discovery.
