Yep, a lack of STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM would be a bit disappointing. And would it kill to do some voice acting for guards of other races? I've always wanted to hear an Argonian guard shouting "Nobody breaks the law on my watch!".
This was excactly what was going through my head as I clicked to open this thread. In Oblivion there were a few Nord and Breton guards, but these were all quest-related or not just regular guards Burd and Ulrich Leland... I would like to see some of the other races as guards as well. At least there'll have to be Nord guards in someway, it is Skyrim after all!

I honestly don't know if I'd buy the game.
I'm hoping that in the upcoming book, they reveal that it was all a weird time warp [&@%!] up or todd howard's nightmare or something.

Oh, and if the biggest battle in the game is with, like, 15 people on each side. (Oblivion fail)

I basically can't stand the idea that Morrowind was killed by orderless lizards. The empire falling apart is fine, but Morrowind getting invaded by lizards is pretty saddening to a Dunmer like myself.

If I opened the box and it was Crash Bandicoot 3 instead.

A bit more seriously, if there was no vampirism at all that the player could catch.

And it won't "ruin" the game because I'm not expecting it, but I'm always bummed that there aren't guns. Magic and natural beauty killed by steam-powered progress, please. Turning the haughty important Mages into beggars and prostitutes would be satisfying.

Whoah. Rambly there for a second. So, to reiterate, Crash Bandicoot, no vampires, and no guns would all be obstacles to my enjoyment of Skyrim.

Two main things, if I HAVE to use a finishing move on EVERY single kill I get.
And if dragons attack villages way to often, like i'm talking every ten minutes!

TES games are great for role playing...but they should NOT have too much of that stuff in it...

Cooking Improves the beifits you get from eating food. Thats it. Totally optional. This is game about slaying dragons, not (as it was already ingeniously put) the Sims.
There should NOT be more work put into rpleplaying functions than combat/regular gameplay. You shouldn't have to eat/drink/sleep to survive, I don't want any changes to the encumberance system, (other than perhaps being able to move slowly but not fast travel rather than being brought to a standstill), I don't want fast travel taken out, I don't want anything role play wise to be ESENTIAL in the game. All optional.

This is a game, not a real person. If the game is too realistic it will lose many fans and in my opinion too much realism will make it awful.
Relaism as in forced cooking to eat without negative effects or having to play around the players bodily needs like sleep and hunger or thirst. That would ruin it for me and many others.

The same leveling system as in Oblivion and some of the races missing. Seriously, we need all of the races! (but it's already confirmed that all of them are available)
Twice and twice shall he be marked, twice to live and twice to die.

Once the Dragon, for remembrance lost. Twice the Dragon, for the price he must pay.

I think that Bethesda should take time to recruit a much larger troupe of voice actors this time around. Oblivion was a great game but I was getting tired of hearing the same voices over and over again. Some of the unique characters like the Martin, Uriel, and Mankar Camoran were great though.
Another issue is the leveling system for enemies. If they have done away with that and found something more sensible then I will be happy. You would assume that once you are an expert (or even master) of blade, you would be able to destroy pretty much everything out there. Instead you end up scrapping with lowly bandits who, for some reason, know how to perform a disarming power attack.
There are tons of other things that they could do to 'ruin' the game, but I have faith in Bethesda's ability to effectively address the criticisms of Oblivion and build the kind of game that long-time fans will want to play.

Hmmm, I could put aside almost everything, as long as it isn't too complicated in the controls. It shouldn't be, but the implementing of finishing moves worries me a little.
To see the world in a grain of sand
And heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.

finishing moves just happens, you dont need to press something specific, if the enemy is something like healt:1/400 or something like that and you perform a good hit then that hit becomes a finishing move

si dont worry about the complex

No guns at all, this is medieval fantasy game, the second a Dark Elf shows off his Glock to intimidate me I abandon this series. NO GUNS
I don't mean automatic weapons, I don't expect to see an imperial with a M4, I meant maybe 10 guns in the whole game, and only one type, say a musket, it has the bad feature of having a long reload time.

The difficulty option in oblivion was just horrible. One little movement of the slider and the game is too easy, one up and im getting killed by cave rats..... We need a new leveling system, light level scaling, and a different way difficulty is handeled.

I love guns, love fallout & love gore, but i agree NO GUNS. This isn't FABLE/2/3. This The Elder Scrolls. Millenia of battle, witches and wizards, murderers, theives, knights, mercenaries, an old woman at the bottom of a mountain,,,,,and a REALLY fast cat. TES is everthing (except rping a merc.) that FO/FABLE is not. If it's not broke don't fix it, the TES formula has worked thus far, I say lets keep it that way.

just my thoughts NO GUNPOWDER PERIOD.

guns, multiplayer , and the same bounty system as Oblivion where if you commit a crime in a city and run to another city the guards come running to you and give their speech.... it should take more time for them to find out of the crimes you made like a day or two not just a....second . I hope you understand what i want to say....

Nooo, eventually you need gunpowder if this word is going to keep progressing in time. It isn't a static fantasy era, its moving forward. Things are evolving, and progressing. Eventually, somebody is going to invent gunpowder, make muskets, and scientific progress is going to lead to automobiles, electric light, and Mages becoming more and more archaic as time goes on. OR, maybe they're the ones that invent all this, powering it with magic.

So, like I said, I'll be bummed if the ES series never ever EVER develops guns. It just won't ring true to me.

Well in the real world they gradually developed gunpowder...in TES they have magic so...

How about some kind of new, highly accurate staff that focuses large amounts of energy into tightly packed thin bolts?
Like...rather than the big staffs from oblivion, a thin pole with perhaps a small ball of magical energy on the end, which allows you to "aim down the sights" (how you hold the staff) and fire bolts of magical energy?
Idk.

Have you played Fable by any chance? If you have you would understand my desperate need to keep it going in the Fable direction. There is no scientific advancment in Nirn, the only technologically advanced society simply disappeared. No seriously the dwemer are simply gone. My point is no guns, no advancements, all technology that will be researched already has been. I would simply hate it if it moved forward. More importantly why does it need to advance, it isn't the real world, I don't want to deal with real world problems that come with technology like urban blight, high poverty rates. Once again;

NO GUNS NO GUNS NO GUNS

In keeping with certain posts made above, I would like to point out that not all technological advancements made could be construed as beneficial. This is a fantasy game, and while there might be room for guns in fantasy, I don't believe there is in ES. We've all seen what happens to technologically advanced people in ES: they die. Dwemer, Ayleids...
