K, well no offense (seriously, I'm not trying to be a jerk at all), but I'm not sure this is going to go anywhere without further clues unless someone can read your mind. So far, all you've really told us, is that it's deep, dark, holds "knowledge of the dead house," and it's dangerous. That could describe a lot of places. Am I missing something about the riddle?

I'm not questioning it because I haven't gotten it right. I'm questioning it because I literally have a list of options in front of me, all of which fit the riddle. That's not the way a riddle is supposed to work. It's supposed to be a unique set of clues that point to a single answer. It is entirely possible that there is one best answer that I'm missing, but I just wanted to bring it to Coaxl's attention that this riddle might be problematic.

P.S. Alu, I do resent being called ridiculous without even being asked why I was questioning the validity of the riddle. Some might call that action ridiculous...no hard feelings tho

Well, yeah, that applies to plenty of places in Morrowind. You're right. This means one of us has done something wrong... Based on postcount and fame on the forums, it would indeed be me, though others would say that after only one valid guess, it is possible that perhaps you have misinterpreted the riddle, or missed something. Your call.

Both guesses incorrect. I'd love to make it more obvious for you all, but it would be painful for me to just plain out kill my first riddle after 3 incorrect (and valid) guesses when all the veterans here post far more cryptic riddles that last for 2 pages and could just as well be interpreted in several ways (for example, with the last riddle - I would never have thought of the dissident priests, until he posted the second paragraph, with which it all became clear).

The first two lines suggest a Sixth House base, while the third and fourth imply that an individual who was seeking this location was found by the guards and was either captured, trapped, or, given the ominous implication of the elipses at he end, killed.

As far as I'm aware, Mendel Eves, found just inside the ruin, is one of the only unfortunate individuals who were actually seeking a Sixth House base, rather than simply stumbling upon it, and he barely made it into the first chamber before dying. The fact that the place also houses a large library is encouraging since our lost soul was apparently seeking forgotten knowledge.

Kogoruhn may work as well since its resident important corpse, Feril Salmyn, also knew what he was getting in to, and the fact that he never made it inside fits with the riddle's suggestion that the individual was unable to enter at all.
