I have no idea. It's a commonly found item, thus it isn't something unique. More likely an ingredient or a drop from an enemy type. However, I'm really not sure what would be in the north, coveted, and lead to tragedy -- either in Cyrodiil or in Mania. (Yeah, that would be pretty slick if it was something in SI and "north" meant Mania.)

Just to put something down on paper, though, I'm gonna say Milk Thistle Seeds.
