Oh, are there many of them? I only know City Swimmer, and the UOP fix by simply muting the pronoun was meh. Before .. it was like her confused language added to her third person madness :3
Here a similar weird one: http://kriscrash.dk/aht/oblivion/0512s_tunzeeus_orc.jpg

By that I think they just mean he's the town smith. Orcs are known for their skill at smithing. It doesn't mean that Tun-Zeeus is literally an Orc.krisCrash wrote:Here a similar weird one: http://kriscrash.dk/aht/oblivion/0512s_tunzeeus_orc.jpg

I remember one time I was in Cheydinhal, and I walked up to the castle only to discover the guardsman outside had apparently forgotten to wear clothes that day. He was just standing at his post in his underwear. It creeped me out, to say the least.
Re: Post funny, stupid or weird glitches that's happened to you.
I had just closed an Oblivion gate, and I was brought back to cyrodill as the gate did its usual closing animation. the interesting thing though was the I had killed a fire atronacht outside, and when the gate fired all of the rock and fire into the air to close it, it took the atronacht with it, leaving it suspended some 50 feet in the air.

Haha once early on in my game I went into a guard tower and I was in the barracks and a man woke up and arrested me…in his underpants. It was humiliating hahaDeadlyPerfume wrote:I remember one time I was in Cheydinhal, and I walked up to the castle only to discover the guardsman outside had apparently forgotten to wear clothes that day. This is a very general glitch, but I like when you KO an essential character and they sort of zoom off, sliding along the floor :')

I was about to speak to Vicente Valtieri in the Dark Brotherhood training room... he was standing in front of target where M'raaj-Dar was training his destructions skills... and he kept knocking Vicente unconscious

I just came to post basically the same thing; guess its common. Saw a slaughterfish flopping around east of the sewer exit. Couldn't figure out what it was at first, kinda freaked me out.butterslug wrote:I recently just had a slaughterfish flopping around in fort redman's courtyard. This isn't really a glitch but it's just plain ridiculous....
Okay so we all know Alval Uvani right? One of the black hand members you kill in the Dark Brotherhood?
Well in one of my older play throughs, as I finally got to the dead drop for him and activated it, about two seconds afterwards it just said the quest was completed.
I thought to myself, "wait what? How??!"
Well after I completed the Dark Brotherhood completely I was traveling about one day and I spotted an ogre and when into fight it,
after I slew him, I noticed a dunmer corpse just a few feet away, it was Alval Uvani.

Yes, that is the price of playing a game where NPCs have lives and don't wait for you to show up and make stuff happen
I don't even know any other game to do this.

And, according to my game, at 6 pm Ra'qanar falls from the sky and dies. His quarters are located in the western area of the county hall, and he sleeps there every night between 2am and 8am. He spends all morning and afternoon inside his room, wandering aimlessly around, until he finally leaves the castle at 5pm. He crosses the courtyard and enters the guard barracks where he goes into sneak mode in order to pick up some food. If he manages to either find or steal some, he sits down at the table and eats until 7pm, when he returns to his room. At 9pm, he goes to the Great Hall, where he serves at Count Andel Indarys' formal dinner. When the guests retire at midnight, Ra’qanar stays in the dining area for another two hours before finally going back to his room and bed at 2am.

Re: Post funny, stupid or weird glitches that's happened to you.
OK, I scanned some pages but couldn't find this: There is a bridge on the road between Bravil and Lleyawin. On the Lleyawin side, the map is all messed up like it's missing data - it's all undefined like looking at something from a distance.
Is this a vanilla oblivion glitch? I don't remember it from my first play through but may have been using fast travel and missed it. I'm using francesco's mod with all the official patches and the unofficial oblivion patch. It's not a huge problem but it's kind of annoying if I have to explore the area around the bridge. (plus it really confuses guards who turn around and walk the other way or get caught on the bridge)

Snuke: does it persist if you exit the game, restart and reload your file? Does it happen to other characters too?

Excellent question. I'll have to load it up and see when I get back home. Never even thought it could have just been a temporary glitch.krisCrash wrote:Snuke: does it persist if you exit the game, restart and reload your file? Does it happen to other characters too?

Re: Post funny, stupid or weird glitches that's happened to you.
OK, just checked again and that area of the map is back to normal (good thing too since there were some plant ingredients around there I hadn't found before). Well that will teach me to assume it's not something a reload of the map won't fix. But it's an appropriate weird glitch for this forum!krisCrash wrote:Snuke: does it persist if you exit the game, restart and reload your file? Does it happen to other characters too?
Oh, and a follow up funny glitch. I was walking around that same bridge and saw something sticking out of the water right below it (its a low wooden foot bridge). Got close and turns out its an Imperial Soldier!! Apparently it was the same one stuck on the bridge when the glitch happened. When the map reset/reloaded he ended up in the water below. Now he's just chillin' there, wading around.
Do soldiers follow a continuous pattern or do they eventually reset if you don't visit the area they're in after a while? I ask because I'm wondering if he'll be there forever unless some enemy coaxes him out of the water and back to land.
He seems perfectly content otherwise.

Re: Post funny, stupid or weird glitches that's happened to you.
Good that it is fixed.
No one follows patterns in Oblivion. The game gives them a place to be at a certain time (such as "be on guard from 6AM to 6PM, then go to the baracks at the end of the shift"), and they find their way. So they don't walk along pre-set paths.
His corpse will reset and disappear after 3 days if you do not load the location cell (e.g. walk by the area). When you visit a place, it is 'filled in' (enemies are spawned, chests are filled with goodies), these things will 'recycle' once you have left and 3 days pass. Then, when you come back after this time has passed, new things will spawn. If you come back sooner, the 3 day timer will start over. I hope that makes sense. (This doesn't apply to named NPCs going about their business in cities.)

Makes perfect sense. Thanks again, kris.
Another glitch I thought of that happened recently, although it might not really be a glitch:
I was on the road between IC and Skingraad. Suddenly, the danger music starts playing so I ready my weapon. A dark elf comes running down the path with weapon in hand, so I figure he's a bandit. But he's moving fast...I mean he's REALLY running fast. But he runs right by me towards the Imperial City. I wait thinking he went after a soldier I can't see or something else....but no. After a few seconds the music goes back to normal and he's nowhere around.
The next day I'm on my way back again and the same thing happens only this time he's running by me the other way!
It could be something to do with the francesco mod. Maybe an adventurer that got spooked or something. Not sure. Either way, it was funny at the time. I was just standing there waiting to get attacked and he could care less about me!
