I have been reading terrible reviews on the demo from nearly everyone

Define "everyone"? FPS fans? RPG fans? Or A/RPG fans? Aside from that, what do you think of it? The feedback on the BioWare DA2 boards is mixed, but overly, it seems to be more positive than not.

RPG fans from various game boards.
Most say the combat is wonky, and that the graphics are bad

The graphics did look sort of...bad. But that's not gonna stop me from investing an insane amount of time in it!

Re: Dragon Age 2
I really liked the demo have only done it as a mage and Red make sure you finish DA:O first importing saves and whatnot.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

Re: Dragon Age 2
DA2 won't feature imported saves, as there's no reak crossover of the canon.
....I think? Not 100% sure on that one, but as the Champions story arc is entirely unique, it's not dependent on what may or may not have happened in Origins. Besides, that game had twenty billion endings (I know 'cause I counted 'em..
), so importing decisions and outcomes, a la Mass Effect, just wouldn't be feasable.
I stand to be corrected, though.
Mars: technically the graphics aren't really good, or bad. But you've got to compare it to Origins. On 360, does DA2 look better than Origins? I'd say yes, absolutely.

That's not true, actually. (Forum post by some designer of DA II)The Tourist wrote:DA2 won't feature imported saves, as there's no reak crossover of the canon.

I've only seen screenshots so I really can't tell. The Demo didn't work for me. I just hope that I won't waste my money now. You've planted the seed of doubt in meThe Tourist wrote:DA2 won't feature imported saves, as there's no reak crossover of the canon.

Far as I can tell, I'm still standing.... yes, like a true survivor, but mostly; to be corrected.Arch-Mage Matt wrote:That's not true, actually. (Forum post by some designer of DA II)
That doesn't seem comparable to Mass Effect's system of dependent crossover - simply because Hawke's entirely removed from either your Origins or Awakening character. But yeah, from that post, there's definitely some crossover.

Re: Dragon Age 2
I'd imagine that it'll just take the more significant choices made throughout the game/expansions. There are only four main game endings, for example, to the main game. I've only planed the one expansion so I can't say much beyond that. I will have to play one more game with expansions though just for the sequel.

Re: Dragon Age 2
It's only beginning to dawn on me that I'll temporarily hate everyone in America, come March 8th...
Why is it that you lot get DA2 three days before us?! Bar-stewards!
I've started avoiding the DA2 boards, as spoilers are already floating around.
(actually, I'll probably be playing it after everyone else in the UK too, seeing as I ordered it and didn't go for speedy delivery... )

I think I played through it 7 times to get all the endings? Was never sure, considering I wasn't very specific in going for the Achievement. But regarding expansions? I've still not played Awakening (nor will I before the 11th), but at least one of the characters from that appears as a main character in DA2. I don't care about spoilers for Awakening, or Witch Hunt (the other DLC I've not played yet), however, so I'll wiki their plots before DA2.Cactus wrote:There are only four main game endings, for example, to the main game. So apparently the EA Online store lost my pre-order for the Signature Edition.
I'll have to pick up the normal edition on launch day =T

So... what's everyone's first class going to be? I think I'll start with a marksman rogue. In the demo, they're about as versatile as a mage, but less squishy.

Only thing is, I am 130 hours into oblivion and still haven't completed it, I get DA2 tonight. This is a problem

Did anyone notice on the demo the text was ridiculously small? I could barely see anything, or was it just me?

It's going to be a while before I get the game so I haven't bothered with the demo yet. I plan on getting all DA expansions and making sure I have a nifty save file to import with all applicable DA stuff.

A hero can be anyone, even a man doing some as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know the world hadn't ended.
