yes also emerald, but those are advance games. If you get one of those, get emerald. It uses elements from both ruby and sapphire and has both Kyogre and groudon catchable on one game.
the others I mentioned are DS

also, I have only seen the first second and 3rd movies. I don't watch the TV show. I just find the characters, espeically Ash, to be freaking annoying

With the song, i listen to it all the time and its one of the few accessible songs or sounds i have that calm me
as for the saying,
i have 3 people in my life, Period.
One is fire, one is ice, one is lightning.
When one of those 3 are upset, im upset, if they;re happy, im happy. When those 3 are together, happy in unison, Im at my best.
Disturb not the harmony

For the DS, you've got Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, and Black and White coming on March 6th. You can also play any Advance cartridge: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed and LeafGreen. Generation II games are trade compatible with Gen III games, but only if you're using a GB Advance(GBA doesn't connect with GBC, at least as far as I remember). If you have just a DS, you can't even play Gen II and earlier games, let alone do any trades with them. GBC and Advance, as well as the games up to Gen III can all use cables for trade. Gen IV uses Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection(which requires a wireless internet connection), though you can trade from Gen III games to Gen IV games via dual-slot(in-game Pal Park and whatnot).
Oh, and though Nintendo is coming out with the 3DS soon, you don't need one for Black and White.

No, they're not.
You can freely trade between games in the same generation. FR/LG are considered to be part of generation 3, while HG/SS are generation 4 games.
You can freely trade between generations 1 and 2.
You can migrate Pokémon from generation 3 to generation 4. This is one-way only, and you need the National Dex on the 4th gen game to receive anything. Doing so requires a version of the DS that isn't the DSi.
Link cables are required for any trade that doesn't involve gen 4 games, since the DS comes with a built in wireless adapter that can connect to other DS systems or to a wireless internet connection.
