Hey guys, I just went on rp.shatteredlands.net
It says it's only a temp map but do you guys have a city/town/place of residence anywhere?

Is this meant to be witty, informative or deep? I doubt I can manage all three.

Well in that case I shall go back to building some buildings in singleplayer.Kestral wrote:The map with the city isn't. Trying to change some things up and wait for the some new update for a mod. I just read an interesting article (http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic ... 5&t=106100) about using golden ratios in m
Minecraft buildings.
It's kind of bringing maths and Minecraft together, but not in a bad way!
Also I just finished a circular tower, might add a castle to it later, it starts as diameter 13 and becomes smaller every 6 layers, ending up as a single block with fire on top. Here's the only pic I got so far http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/3069 ... 091800.jpg
Also, I want to make a replica of an Oblivion building but I don't know which one, any suggestions anyone?

Perhaps one of the guild houses or maybe just one of those imperial towers because they are cool. I already attempted Weynon Priory.

The Server is back up, as a HUGE city, with independent districts. We can create an Imperial district if you'd like. Though, I'm building an apartment complex.
...and diplomacy continues to fail. Their ears fall deaf, and their eyes fall blind, yet they are still not mute. They will not know their errors. Only what they believe themselves. But we... we shall not be silenced.

There are mods for a game that's still in beta?
People have been bugging me to get this game so guess what I did? I bought it. Time to see what the fuss is about.

Re: Minecraft (!)
Yes there are numerous mods at the moment, although there is currently no official modding support so conflicts are commonplace and mods need to be updated after every single Minecraft update. Notch (Developer of Awesomeness) is currently working on the modding API or so I heard. The Tom wrote:There are mods for a game that's still in beta?

I'm anticipating a post from you in the near future ranting and raving about a giant green "naughty thing" that blew up your house.

Re: Minecraft (!)
New awesome server:
smp.topminecraft.com
Come check it out, it's owner/admin is active, and a lot of fun. Me and my cousin have a small settlement going, and he is a mod. Hopefully, I will be too, soon.

And when things start to happen,
don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

Re: Minecraft (!)
This game is off the hooks.
So far all I've done is mooch around a cave system, getting deaded by a zombie, mining with a friend for our grand development involving seven people, of which I am the architect. It's just fun mining stuff! And the fact that there's a whole world out there just waiting for us to find it... I cant say enough good things.

Re: Minecraft (!)
I finally got around to working on my circular castle today. Only trouble was, I had no stone...
SO I promptly mined out around 2000 blocks, creating this cavern (underneath part) which I'm going to use as either a: an arena b: a wine cellar or c: Catacombs.
I added all the stone I'd mined onto the castle and now it looks like this!
Different Angle
I still need to finish the gatehouse towers (the one on the left is nearly done), flatten the roof, add another smaller circular tower (with a flagpole!), do the interior, spruce up the exterior, connect my catacombs and I should be done in about 3 years
Additional picture with new version of the Painterly Pack that I got, their customization feature really is amazing. I was bored of green grass and dark stone

Re: Minecraft (!)
I keep trying to convince my friends that we should leave cake at strategic points around our mine to allow better healing (we're under siege by an as-yet unsourced infestation) but so far they haven't agreed. I mean, we've got hundreds of wheat bundles, so why not? Nice cake btw.
Also, how do I know that the server I play on is down and not just Minecraft in general?

If Minecraft.net (Minecraft in general) is down when you try to log in to the launcher it will say "Cannot connect, play offline or try again" sort of thing. The Tom wrote:I keep trying to convince my friends that we should leave cake at strategic points around our mine to allow better healing (we're under siege by an as-yet unsourced infestation) but so far they haven't agreed. If your server is down it will become apparent only when you try to log in to it.
May I ask which server you are playing on, I'm in the process of finding a good stable one to play on.

It's fine, it's working now. And about the server, I don't know that I'm allowed to give out the address, sorry. I'm just part of a group of friends, the leader of which is a member of the server owner's community.

Oh it's public, but apparently whitelisted, whatever that is.
You don't know if I can join another server and still keep all my items and minerals on my regular one, do you?
