Re: Pokemon!
And about it being cheating if we're more than six, that rule only applies to trainers. None of us have a trainer (that I know of, anyway), and there aren't really rules for how many wild Pokémon are allowed to live together.

Re: Pokemon!
So, we have each of the Kanto starters, a Swampert, a Jigglypuff, and a Marowak.
I think we should change the name to "The Pokémon Team" since we have six members.

Be sure to put The Water's Great Guardian of the Poke-Squad or something of the sort for a signature, and an avatar of lugia if you so choose ^_^
But by no means are you not welcome if you dont want that in your sig or avy!

Re: Pokemon!
So last night, i FINALLY, just started gold and silver versions, well, silver. I have all 3 generation 2 games, gold silver and crystal. I want to get through gold and silver first and then jump to crystal.
Of course then i feel im going to buy whatever the next console is to play the next generation games.
Theres alot to learn for these new generations so im taking it slow.
One question, i supose before i have a ton later on is this:
With silver, it has a internal time clock, but ive read that the internal "battery" can fail and you can lose all your data...is this true? and is there a way around it?
also, would i be better off trading for pokemon from my original(red/blue/yellow)? pokemon 1-151 seem, more powerful then 152-250...i know there are exceptions.
and last, i know there are but i cant find it, what are some good websites to help with generation 2 info? i know bulbapedia and gamefaqs have nice guides and walkthroughs, im not really looking for spoilers, but im the kinda player who likes a strategy guide. I have the original strategy guide for yellow blue and red, which covers all three. But i feel a bit lost without one for this new generation.

serebii.net best site on the web for pkm.
You got the old version of Gold and silver? Why didn't you get the remake of it, heartgold or soulsilver. Pretty much the same game, but with a ton of upgrades, and no interal clock failure chance
Anyways, No I wouldn't suggest trading for the originals. Kinda diminsihes the fun of the game Imo. New ones that I would definitely get: Starter- Cyndoquil-No comparison to the other starters. Mareep-Full evolution is one of the best electric types. Get and Eevee and take the time to train an Espeon, takes a while, but well worth it. Then of course go after Lugia, much better than Ho-oh
btw, do you have 2 DS systems? If you do, you can get trade evolutions very easily
PS. Silver is better than Gold
If you have story questions, just ask here. I have played all the gens of pkm so far.

Those are the must haves, a grass type is not really usefull, neither is a fighting type, dark type, or steel type. Until you get Lugia, I acutally found it helpfull to train a Pidgey
Flying types are really useful.

I cant say i have story questions, i dont want spoilers, the story will come.
I just want some help with items, pokemon locations, etc.
As said, i know pokemon generation 1 almost through and through, but i feel im in a "whole new world"(thats a cartoon pun) in this jhoto region
btw, ive heard that the legendarys are gerbils? lol

Btw if you have a bit of money, I would really suggest getting a DS and a copy of soulsilver. Much more fun than the original, and yes it plays every generation on.
You are way behind in the gens btw

so if i get a nintendo DS, i can play generation 3 forward?
lol alllso, will my link cable for my 2 gameboy colors work with ds? or advance?
as for being behind, yes i know, i went through a 10 year hiatus from pokemon, and have recently been rejuvenated.
Besides, at least all this is new to me, and im not bored with it already lol

Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heartgold, Soulsilver, Black, and Whit are all for the DS. And like I said, DS plays advance too. (but not color games). All new release GBA games are going to be on the DS, so you definitly need to get it if you plan on getting any next gen PKM games
