I missed the end of the Daft-off. Sad face goes here.
And Ravey can't even get High Fidelity right. He missed the "ab-tu dieery" bit.

@Jakarius:
Mark All Read
^ That's what I do if there're more than 3-4 pages since it's mostly inane chatter anyway. It often piles up that much just whilst I sleep, so I probably miss a lot.

Do people actually care about having unread posts?
I sure don't.

Some of you are like, "Argh, I have unread posts!".
I'm like, "Meh, I'll read what I want."

They're 18px × 9px big.
I completely miss them most of the time in my 25 inch screen.

And I never miss them on my tiny iPod screen.
Re: The Crazy Offtopic, Offtopic Thread.
I just use the buttons as a mental organizational tool. I click the orange buttons to take me to the oldest unread post in various threads, then whenever I'm done with a certain section and don't want to read anymore, I click "Mark as Unread" and move on. Once I feel like I've read everything I want, I do that to the entire forum. I don't actually worry about it. Like I said, if there're more pages than I feel like reading in a thread like this, I just skip it.

I just have what I've read indexed in my head. I completely ignore the little icons.

I'm forced to read pretty much everything... If I go out for one night, that adds an extra hour or more to my usual reading and fixing time. Tis nuts how much posting gets done sometimes. I blame it on Cactus.
I don't like to think about the days I'm away from home....bad business that.

Do what we did when I was a mod. Delegate. That's why there's more than one of you. If you go out of time ask and make sure someone else is filling in, then when you return you won't have to be so focused on reading old stuff that you don't want to read.
I might make my own pen and paper RPG.

You're lucky this a small forum Dean. Imagine the amount you'd have to read in a bigger forum.Dean wrote:I'm forced to read pretty much everything... Re: The Crazy Offtopic, Offtopic Thread.
It's a good plan. I just have this weird OCD with not reading things if they are there. Even when I joined up I was reading nearly every post (though back then the forums weren't very active). It's something to look into though, could save a lot of people a lot of trouble.Cactus wrote:Do what we did when I was a mod. Delegate. That's why there's more than one of you. I kinda just wish everyone would use the report button. Makes life so much simpler.
I'm sure big forums generally have a 'lot' of moderators. I wonder how active this forum will get by November...Spiney wrote: You're lucky this a small forum Dean. Imagine the amount you'd have to read in a bigger forum.

Its Saturday, so instead of learning I'm trying to find a Haynes manual for my bike. Some things in life are just too easy. Now if only I could get it cheaper off Amazon.

Re: The Crazy Offtopic, Offtopic Thread.
I always regret cutting my hair about ten minutes after I do it. I hate how it looks on me. I just get bored of my long hair and how annoying it is, but once it's cut I always think "Well crap.. now that I see this, it was totally worth the annoyance."The Tom wrote:Since I forgot to mention that I also take into account the handshake experience, I can only conclude that you are disturbingly similar to me, except that I only take inhalers once a day now and never ever cut my hair short any more. You also have much less junk than me, which makes me sad.
I take my inhaler rarely now. I was put on this prevention "inhaler" thing called Advair. I just call it the purple thingy. It works really well and I use my inhaler maybe once a week, but still, I'd rather have it on me all the time than leave it at home the one time this week I need it.
I don't really think about how I shake hands. Er.. medium grip with a very brief up-down movement. I don't actually like shaking hands. You've perhaps played Dragon Age? If you have, consider what Morrigan said. That applies to me to a small degree. Enough so I don't like it, but not so much that I can't ignore it. Oddly enough once I get to know people, I'm totally a hugger if I haven't see someone in a long time. I guess I'm a man of extremes.

Oh, and before anyone asks, "Shet" isn't me trying to not swear, it's how my brother and I say miscellaneous. I... don't know why. Oh, and yes, I really do have myself on my own friends list.

Haynes makes bike manuals? Thats awesome, that guy can build anything. You must have one hell of a bike if you need a tear down manual to service it.The Tom wrote:Its Saturday, so instead of learning I'm trying to find a Haynes manual for my bike.
