Re: Minecraft (!)
At a friends house, i created a massive tower, with a minecart that you ride to the bottom. Then you can go underground, and ride the minecart throughout a huge distance.

Hey, Lunar, a dude from my school wants to join our town, is that okay with you? If so, I need you to invite him, 'cause I have no idea how to do that. And besides, you're mayor.
Also, Kestral still isn't a member of our town, we should fix that sometime.

Re: Minecraft (!)
I have just discovered the wonder that is the Chaos server.
Full PVP outside the spawn, basically the only rules are against hacking, completely open, can have around 100 players at once.
The only problem is it's so busy when logging on you will most likely be put in a queue which can range from 15 to 100 people.
They must have some insane server computer to host 100 people with no lag, and there actually is hardly any lag, except when the world saves and that's about 5 seconds every 30 minutes.
All the "Minecraft Youtube Celebrities" play on it like paulsoaresjr, Coe, MineraftChick etc.
I've been playing on it for the last few hours and it's actually quite intense. You start off on the spawn island with access to a starter kit and basic services, once you leave the island you are fair game. The day/night cycle is definitely longer than usual and other modifications such as a massive cave system underground (like surface land, just underground) and ores being much rarer, but they occur in much higher frequencies (My friend and I found a vein of 64 iron at bedrock!).
Some people play defensive, hiding away and surviving, some are offensive, killing everything they see. I spent a night hiding from someone (making great use of the "crouch/Shift" button. In the morning I decided it was too dangerous to leave them so I planned out and executed an ambush while they were gathering wood. I continued to hide away in my cave until one day I saw two guys swimming over to where my cave was. They had built a mine right next to it, oblivious of my presence. I killed one of them but the other escaped, both came back with vengeance soon after. I got killed but managed to re-equip myself when they stumbled across my mine. I saw them coming but I was sneaking and so they didn't see me until they were both dead
I took all their stuff and relaxed for a bit. My friend came online and we travelled the map together, eventually finding a safe place to make a cave. We now have a bedrock mine and plenty of resources and hardly any neighbours. I think I can afford to relax for a bit.
Sorry for writing so much but it's just so dang fun!

That sounds pretty intense, Jak, and it's probably fun, too. But I think that'd probably be too stressful for me. I enjoy mining and sometimes building things much more than fighting.
Still, sounds interesting, though.

Re: Minecraft (!)
The main reason I like it is because I've been playing with hardly ANY pvp since, well forever I guess.KalleFlaxx wrote:That sounds pretty intense, Jak, and it's probably fun, too. I like the change, and the feeling that you're always being watched makes it all the more fun.
But I understand it isn't for everyone, but it's something about Minecraft. I think it's a perfect case of "Gameplay > graphics".
When I first ambushed a person having watched them for the whole night, terrified they would come and kill me, and with no idea what sort of equipment they had, when I managed to get them I actually had a slightly predatory instinct emerge.
I think Minecraft actually brings out survival instincts from time to time, weird but I think it does.

Re: Minecraft (!)
I finally found a decent server to play on: Evilbread's Furry Server.
Yeah, you probably expected that from me. It's a building/survival server, no PVP. Trade is recommended, and there's plenty of interesting buildings around. And you don't have to be a furry, just that the server owner is one.

I'm using Mixcraft but I spliced it with Doku's RPG pack so now it's a mixture of the two.ace62394 wrote:Any recommendations on any good texture packs, people?
I've also heard that Painterly is supposed to be quite good.

Re: Minecraft (!)
I tried Painterly, but didn't love it. My personal favorite, the one I'm running now, is a variant of Doku' RPG called GoruDoku. It's awesome, look it up.

Re: Minecraft (!)
Since the server is down, I've been screwing around with redstone. I made a stable 3-clock and managed to create an auto turret with the dispenser. I feel epic.

Everyone should post their MC usernames and perhaps a server they often go to.
(And maybe Kessie could edit them into the OP)
