No, Sabre tooths are in the game.Spiney wrote:Sabre Tooths in Skyrim? Someones been playing WoW.
I don't know the fauna of Skyrim, but I would go for the biggest, heaviest and most Hardy animal I could find.

Re: Mounts
Maybe something hardy? Like maybe a Skyrim Bear?
Or a tough horse that's strong but steady.

Re: Mounts
I'd like to see something along the lines of a woolly, big mount. Probably something similar to a Bantha from Star Wars.

Err... A horse.
Or a bear... It's a very interesting image, seeing a Nord barbarian, with a beard and all that, riding a bear...

Re: Mounts
I'd like to have a percheron (draft horse).
Pretty sure i don't want to mount a bear though...no offense

Re: Mounts
I just want the mounts to be realistic. Not by looks, by historical realism. I'd rather have dog sleds!

Re: Mounted Transport
If the Dwemer have indeed left their mark upon this land, I want the Dwarven equivalent of an AT-AT stomping through the snow.
If you're wondering why I do not speak of dragons attacking such machinations, remember this: the Imperials won the Battle of Hoth.
Sort of.
Yes, I know that you can consider it a successful rearguard action instead.

Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Personally, I think that something more like the battle of Endor (in southern Skyrim, what with the epic pine forests and all) but with Bosmer instead of Ewoks.Dark Spark wrote:If the Dwemer have indeed left their mark upon this land, I want the Dwarven equivalent of an AT-AT stomping through the snow.

Re: Mounted Transport
It would be cool to build up a relationship with your mount the more you ride it. (whatever your mount is). You should be able to feed it things, like apples for a horse etc. And as it get more use to you it becomes easier to control/stats increase a little. It could follow you around when you dismount and have simple animations like it nuzzling up against you. If the game world is as big as oblivion I'm going to spend a lot of time riding around exploring and it would be cool to build up a bond with my mount.

Todd Howard interview: (from gameinformer article)
gameinformer: "With all this technology at its fingertips, surely Bethesda could put players on the back of a woolly mammoth or a fire-breathing dragon, right?"
Howard: “We're not talking about mounts yet,” he says coyly.

Just edit your post if you are the last one who posted.
Anyway, I'm fine with horses, mabye more variety. I'm not saying it wouldn't be awesome to ride around on a bear. I just think it would be kind of illogical.

Re: Mounted Transport
I know this won't be in as it would be difficult to implement. but it would be cool if you could attempt to mount any animal in the game (if big enough), and it would act in away appropriate to type, so yes you could try and mount a sabretooth but its probably not going to happily carry you around and respond to you in the way a horse would. There could also be a difference between wild and domesticated animals. So if you mount a horse from a stable it would be used to carrying people but if it was a wild horse (if there are any!) it would need to be won over in some way. If your race is known to have better skills with wild creatures then you might be better at getting them to submit to you. anyway just a thought, don't think I've explained it very well!

Re: Mounted Transport
