Looting the Dead

Post by Perseus »

Hi

I am totally new to Daggerfall. After my pc crashed and me being a college student with no money I couldn't afford to buy a new gaming pc. So, pretty much I have had to say goodbye to my beloved 3d games, as I only have a [&@%!] laptop to do anything with anymore...

Since I am a long time veteran of Morrowind and Oblivion, I thought I would give Daggerfall a shot. Genuinely I am impressed, it seems like I am getting a more complete game (for free no less!! Thanks Bethesda..) since this game already has mounts and you can already be a vampire and there just seems to be like a hell of a lot more content (since all this stuff came in subsequent ES games). However the User Interface blows ass, to but it bluntly. However, my biggest gripe is the looting process in the game; which brings me to my question...

When I loot dead people or things what ever and when I pick up their equipment or whatever, it is a big pain in the ass that everything that I want to put into my inventory, I have to equip it first. So, when I have my Char. set up the way I want him, it all gets messed up every time I loot a dead body. This means that every time I pick up a weapon or armour it gets equipped and then I have to find the weapon/armour that I was using before hand and then reequip that. It is a real big pain in the ass for me since (to my eyes) all those tiny pixelated sticks which we call "weapons", pretty much all look the same, So I have to scroll through my inventory over and over to get everything back the way it was before I looted the body. What a pain in the ass!! Is there any way to prevent this, or am I doing something wrong?

Any help is much appreciated thanks!

I haven't played Daggerfall in a while, but I'm pretty sure that when you loot enemies, you don't have to equip the items you pick up. You know how there's a little menu to the left of the loot? It says like, "inspect", "equip", "remove" etc? If you click on "remove" or whatever it is and then click on the items you want, they'll go straight into your backpack.

Took me a bit to figure this out as well. Once you do the next problem is not looting to much, especially the two handed weapons as they tend to be extreamly heavy

That's why we have wagons

I never liked, from an RP standpoint, being able to sneak over the walls of a city and then load all the stolen loot from shops into my cart. It would be better done if the cart was something you had to pull around - preferably with a horse :D
Let's play some APB Reloaded Mount & Blade: Warband APB Reloaded Mech Warrior Online APB Reloaded Battlefield 4 SKYRIM!
