I was born under the...
Steed! What do you fine gentlemen think they are going to do with this? I hope they keep it, but then again, the Nord believe in totally different gods then the people of Cyrodil, right?

I hope they keep it, but it may be named differently.

Nothing was said on it yet, but i liked being born under a star sign. Made me feel like every other person in the game, nothing TOO special...HatofMadness wrote:I hope they keep it, but it may be named differently.

I hear ya, the steed was nice because it made running a viable travel option early. I cant see them not having some sort of speed boost through birthsign.

Hope they keep it too. Maybe change the names and effects, but i like the idea of birthsigns as traits.

I agree that they should keep it, but get rid of the more useless effects and replace them with something better. The lover could be a personality and speech craft boost maybe. Other stuff like that.

Nah, they don't really believe in different gods. They just have different names, like Allah/Jesus/Yahwee etc. Anyway I'm pretty sure they'll keep it since the ability menu looks like a sky full of stars...

I'm not really good at astronomy in TES, but they're just star signs, right? Do they even have anything to do with the gods? I'm not sure, it's just a thought.
Anyway, I think and hope they'll keep it in Skyrim. Can't really see why they wouldn't.

Re: I was born under the...
there is no reason why they shouldnt. besides i dont think the starsignes had anything to do with the gods.. i mean no matter what race you are you get to pick a sign.. and last time i checked the thief or the lady or whatever werent connected to julianos or akatosh ect.
im gonna be a thief for sure:) if they bring back signs.

The Dunmer of Morrowind and Vvanderfell didn't believe in the same things the Imperials of Cyrodiil did either, but they had star signs on their documentation as well. so i'm gonna say that star signs are gonna follow through, i also believe star signs went as far back as Daggerfall and even Arena?

What if they just implement all the signs into the perk system?

In keeping with Fallout's theme, i think birthsigns should be traits rather than perks. You can only choose one at character creation.Mr. Mischief wrote:What if they just implement all the signs into the perk system?

If they are going to justify their decision about making the game class-free on the basis of not knowing how you are going to play the game, how would you be able to pick an appropriate sign for your character?JJSmart wrote:In keeping with Fallout's theme, i think birthsigns should be traits rather than perks. For example, why would you pick the atranoch as your sign if you don't know that your going to play as a mage or not?

I don't think they got rid of classes because of not knowing what you're gonna be. I think they did so because of two things:Mr. Mischief wrote:If they are going to justify their decision about making the game class-free on the basis of not knowing how you are going to play the game, how would you be able to pick an appropriate sign for your character?JJSmart wrote:In keeping with Fallout's theme, i think birthsigns should be traits rather than perks. -Classes didn't really reflect your character's talents and specializations (you could be a warrior with mediocre combat skills and formidable magic skills...yet be considered a warrior still)
-It allowed players to bypass the levelled system by doing the above and tricking the game into thinking that because you were level 5, your skills were proportionally adequate.
I think they did away with classes because, in the end, they were irrelevant with the way TES games give you every skill to play with. But this doesn't mean you can't choose a focus (stealth, combat or magic) to get a head-start on the type you wanna play(this is just something i think might be done, there's nothing confirming it or denying it that i know of), or a birthsign that you think(or know) will come in handy.

Re: I was born under the...
I definately want birthsigns. Maybe they could have slightly different powers than in Oblivion. The Serpent, for example is useless, especially at higher levels.
