I wouldn't mind that tbh. Runescape has some features that I'd like, like WOODCUTTING AND FIREMAKING! :x

I don't. Grinding away, trying to gain levels in the skill of burning logs... you guys like that? By all means, add some kind of survival skill, but for pity's sake, don't make me have to burn logs for money.

On the subject of a survival skill, some good new items should come with the hardcore mode that I hope is going to be available. More food, imported drinks from other provinces - but mostly other types of healing. It's all very well drinking a potion and magically regaining this arbitrary quantity known as 'health', but to get really immersed in the whole atmosphere, perhaps you should have to bandage some wounds while they heal, or have to remove arrows with your, uh, arrow-removal kit.

I'm not sayin' I want fire making to be a skill. Just something you can do for the sake of it. FOR THE SAKE OF IT!

Splendiferous! Though, the arrow removal kit isn't so needed for the in-and-out
arrows. Just snap the shaft in half and pull through on both sides. But perhaps
you have to go seek out a chapel healer or something for severe wounds.

Yeah, putting some bandages on the right places would make you look badass as well! And maybe an eyepatch or two.. no, just one.

And how about metal knucklers that boosts damage of H2H?

If any developers at Bethesda are reading this feedback (and you have to suspect that they do), please take note of this: if you're going to transfer the Marksman skill mechanics and perqs from Oblivion to Skyrim wholesale, puh-leeze disable the Expert/Master abilities of Knockdown/Paralysis if the shot is a Sneak attack.

Think of it: if a Master Marksman is shooting from a Sneak position, they're most likely shooting at a target very far away (Zoom) and want to use that great distance to their advantage. Should the target get knocked over or fall in a paralyzed spasm, the "benefit" of such perqs are actually messing up the shooter's aim.

If the Marksman is shooting from a standing position, they most likely don't care about stealth. Which means the target is close by and maneuvering. Knockdown/Paralysis in that case isn't going to mess their shooting solution up any worse than what they're already contending with, and the effects should provide a positive benefit under such circumstances.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

I demand that my Skyrim character be able to have a huge beard. The only reason my beard isn't huge irl is because it makes me look like a hobo. Also, prehensile beards -- who wouldn't want to choke someone with their beard? Holy crap.

If you were hit by an arrow, what would have happened to you? Would you just stand there as if nothing had happened at all.

If you're really going to play the "realism" card here, it would depend entirely on the force, the point of impact, the type of arrow, and the type of bow. I would think that, unless it was an absurdly strong bow with blunt (stone-tipped, possibly) arrows, it wouldn't have as much of a knockback as much as it would be more of a "slowly drop to your knees while grunting in pain" sort of situation. I suppose if the arrow was travelling with enough force an it hit a bone or something, but regardless, I don't see how an arrow would knock someone clear off their feet like that to begin with.

Considering we're talking about a fantasy game here and the fact that elven bows have stronger strings (Assumption) and the like, they would do more damage.

I'm not saying that they should get knocked down, but they don't just stand araound waiting to get killed so it won't mess up the shooter's aim eather.

Oh, the baddies under such shots do move. They do run and they do look for you.

Still, that doesn't mean that they'll find you, or that you can't get in a couple of good sneak shots while they're trying to find you. They are running in the direction of the shots, after all.

Fact of the matter is, the Masters of any melee style can turn on or off their perqs at will— Knockdown/Disarm/Paralyze comes from a Power Attack that the player chooses to make. With the Master Marksman, the perqs are always on.

Heck, a Master of a melee style can't get those Power Attack perqs while Sneaking. It'd be more convenient if the same rule applied to Marksmen as well. Just sayin'.

I think gauntlets should double as h2h weapons that do more damage depending on the type, with daedric being the best cause they're all spikey and stuff :3 I always thought it was wierd that punching someone with bare knuckles hurt the same amount as punching someone with a hulking metal glove.

Flails and morning stars would be real nice. At Expert/Master levels they could have a knockdown or disarm technique.

They were great for that in the Middle Ages so it would be a great addition and stay intune with some realism.

Depends, on my opinion. If I get hit in the head with an arrow, I expect to
fly back, or in whatever direction the arrow was going. As far as physics go,
that would be a perfectly inelastic collision: a collision in which the two
objects stick together and continue moving in the direction of the higher
velocity. This is what I expect would happen in reality.

Also, perhaps stealth shots can have the extra advantage of pinning an
enemy so that they're immobilized. Gives you more advantages for stealth
characters, enabling better stealth attacks.

Edit: And give bonuses for altitude in marksman. Speaking from a physics
standpoint, an arrow traveling upward has a lower velocity, and therefore
less damage, than an arrow traveling downward. Ergo, if you're higher up,
your arrows and other marksman items should cause more damage.

Beards! Yes! Insect-filled, trailing-in-the-wind, biker-style, strokable beards!

In terms of weapons:

Spears
Poleaxes
Bladed Staves
Flails
Crossbows
Throwing Knives
Falchions
Knuckle Dusters
Knives (Not daggers! Knives! Legolas style!)
Shortswords (Wielded Altair style!)
Clubs/Cudgels
Makeshift (When your weapon breaks or is lost, make your own from a stick and a nail!)
Blowpipes
Rocks (Throwable for damage or a distraction!)
Garrotes

The possibilities are endless!

Arrows don't send people flying backwards. That's the same logic where people getting shot by bullets sends them flying back. You'll get a nice punch though, but nothing to send you FLYING backwards, at most you get knocked down and back a bit.

Weapons I want to see:
Moar everything!
spears
flails
polearms
pikes
shield bashing
improved archery
clutter items
moar club types, like some are spiky some aren't
the environment (bodies can cause damage if they fall on you and can knock you down, boulders can be thrown, that kind of stuff)
gauntlets as hand 2 hand upgrades
poisons thrown
broken bottles
chairs
whips (insert indiana jones theme here)
crossbows
some dwemer special weaponry (enchanted/mechanical automatic crossbow type thing?)
horses (they need horseback combat)
throwing knives
javelins
rocks
I zurf teh zombies, I am not a zombie.

Maybe even your own traps. Skulking around in those dungeons is a pain when something comes up behind you. Bear traps, mace traps, or even a rigged crossbow trap.

bring back polearms! i always have loved them, spears especially. mastercrafted weapons, like i love the look of the steel great axe in oblivion and itd be cool if you could find mastercrafted versions of all the weapons so you can use what you like the look of and not nerf yourself horribly. Like say all mastercrafted versions would have the same stats or something so its just an aesthetic choice.

also one of the weapons i havent seen suggested and if it has been i apologize, war picks. one of the coolest dungeons and dragons weapons ever and they never get any love (aside from fable but they were the worst weapons in the game)

maybe even add in certain things the different weapons can do like polearms is reach obviously, swords can have a higher crit chance, mace could knock dudes down, picks could have some armor penetrative chance, etc
fancy lasers and plastic glocks are no match for a good .357 at your side kid

I think we should be allowed to use the Torch as a weapon. Also, being able to use shovels, pickaxes, brooms, scythes and sickles would be nice as well.

I'd like to be able to use magic to improve my fighting abilities in a way similar to DA: like use a spell that improves all my combat skills at once and I don't have to cast it every moment just cast it once and sustain it 8)

The sustaining it would actually be quite a nice feature... On the 360, I hated
having to choose between casting Night Eye every so often, or have it take up
a valuable jewelry slot.
