I am an item thoguht to be associated with a deity
Aedra or Daedra, you must decide
I am vital in getting out of a place
That almost led to a man's demise.
My location is difficult to get through
The more powerful you are
I am on a corpse that doesn't belong
In a place that is not too far
You were sought out to help, and you fought your way to me
With strange tools to fight strange enemies
You used me to save a man close to death
Who is easier to save in 4's.

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
Hmm, clever and not obvious...
Associated with an Aedra or Daedra -- my first instinct is to check out the rewards for the Daedric quests. However, none of those would be found on corpses since they're rewards. The fact that the location gets more difficult as you become more powerful makes me want to believe we're talking inside an Oblivion gate. The last stanza, however, is the part I think I need to key in on -- what can save a man close to death, and how are they easier to save in fours? What does it even mean to save someone in fours? It's not like we can have a party of four. However, that must be important, since the author broke rhyme to include it.
Strange tools to fight strange enemies...is there anywhere in the game you have to use anything unusual to defeat an opponent besides the Gatekeeper in SI? Thinking a little more outside the box, there's the Languorwine Blade and the Rose of Sithis. What am I missing?
Nice riddle.

That would definitely make sense, given how the painted trolls (strange enemies) are levelled and thus very dangerous, and turpentine (strange tools) becoming less and less effective.j31c3n wrote:The Brush of Truepaint.

It technically is, but it's been 3 days. And if you check his profile,
he was on earlier today and still didn't do anything on this thread.

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
Sorry guys, I forgot I posted an answer to this riddle. Glad to see I'm right, but I've already got a riddle going in the Lore forum, and it seems to be extremely difficult. I'm gonna have to brush up on my riddling so I'm gonna pass this one off to whoever wants it.

I'm heads and tails, better than both.
With not a moment to spare, I make you die slowly.
Thanks to my might, you are toast. (It seems my brain can't make up a proper rhyme right now)

The last two lines sound like sunlight, but that doesn't make any sense for the first line. Other than drowning, I can't think of what else would make you die slowly.

Well, the Ring of Burden makes you die slowly thanks to its might
(weight). But I don't know how it's heads, or tails, or both.

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
Reflect Spell 100%
I'm heads and tails, better than both. - reflects harmful spells, allows beneficial spells
With not a moment to spare, I make you die slowly. - refers to spellcasting enemies, not the PC
Thanks to my might, you are toast. - being at 100% Reflect Spell makes you immune to magic and will fry enemies

Not the siege crawler. It's kind of warmer than the other guesses, though.
