I'm Conforming Here
I know I said I didn't care, but I just wanted a decent thread to my name before my internet poofs itself. So, anyway, what are everybody's theories on the Lore and storyline behind Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim? You can make them as creative as you want really, as with the events of Oblivion, this game is likely going to be very Lore heavy.

Re: I'm Conforming Here
Well the video mentions that Skyrim children will spill their own blood.
1st Feature: Civil War
It mentions that the dragons come back
2cnd Feature: Dragons.
It also mentions that there is only one that they fear.
3rd Feature: One Bad*ss Dragon Born dude.
That is all.

Ring-a-ding, baby.

Re: I'm Conforming Here
One thing caught my attention is the part of the Dragon Born it reminded me of what Baurus tells you after the emperor is kill he mentions the septems having Dragon Blood. Is the main character the next Emperor? Also he mentions that the dragon Blood allows them to see more than lesser men. Could this become a new gameplay feature like sensing people feeling or emotions? or foretelling the future.
Got my SKYRIM fix for today. Life is good.
My new Skyrim Let's Play. The adventures of the Loveable Rogue, Mattrim.

All the heirs are dead. Martin was the last one, remember? Unless they want to add a crazy story, that a guy who didn't had the dragon blood became emperor......Is the main character the next Emperor?
...................................
I'm telling ya...... That dragon is Akatosh, angry at everything and everyone.
And they fear not the dragon but the one that the dragon obeys. Sheogorath.

My guess is you play as the Dragonborn like the Nerevarine in Morrowind. The game would involve you wandering around Skyrim slaying dragons.

One of my ideas was that the dragonfires was the only thing keeping the dragons away from the world and that now they're out the dragons can come out.

All the emperors are dragon born, and they whole seeing more than lesser men is just a hint of some sort of greater power, possibly things like foreseeing the future.ThorsHand11 wrote:One thing caught my attention is the part of the Dragon Born it reminded me of what Baurus tells you after the emperor is kill he mentions the septems having Dragon Blood. I'm not arrogant. I'm insecure.

The Reman Emperors, not related to the Septims, like, at all, were able to wear the Amulet of Kings.Red Guardian wrote:All the heirs are dead. Martin was the last one, remember? It's possible for a non-Septim to become Emperor...just saying.

Re: I'm Conforming Here
So, hang on. Is there any confirmation on WHEN this will take place? It sounds like it's after Oblivion, but how long, exactly?
I spent a LONG time on my civil war mod, and if Skyrim ruins the canon, I'll be bummed.

Re: I'm Conforming Here
As far as I can tell there are two main theories for when Skyrim takes place:
1) Directly after the events of Oblivion, and
2) 200 years after the events of the Oblivion crisis, meaning circa 633, 3rd Era, or 200, 4th Era.
There's an article from Eurogamer that reports that TES V is a direct sequel to TES IV. This seems kind of dubious though, since the reporter said he got the information by sitting behind a Bethesda developer on a plane ride. The link to the article is currently on the front page of UESP.
But the advertising blurb from Grey Keyes' "The Infernal City: An Elder Scrolls Novel" says that TES V takes place 200 years after.
"The Waterstone's retail site's listing for the novel originally had a blurb that described its story as '[taking place] forty-five years after the Oblivion Crisis, which is the story of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game and the expansion pack Shivering Isles. It partly bridges the gap for the next game, which is set 200 years after the Oblivion crisis.'"
This blurb has since been removed. You can find a link to the article on the blurb by searching "The Future of TES Games" on UESP.

Re: I'm Conforming Here
I'm hoping it'll be 200 years, then. While I'd be sad to know that Tamika, DB Murderess, Adoring Fan, and all the rest are long dead, it'd work out better. I spent a lot of time playing after the main quest ended, and wrecked up a whole TON of stuff. I'd hate to have to try explaining why nobody seems to remember my character overthrowing the council or besieging Chorrol with an army of Nords. With 200 years of murky history at my back, it's all good!
