Weapons, Equipment and Such.
Here we'll discuss what kind of weapons, equipment and such we want, or think will be in TES V: Skyrim.
I want the following things:
Capes.
Hats.
Spears and pole arms would be neat.
Beards.
Capes are plain cool. Hats are always awesome, and we need headwear that matches regular clothes. It would be incredibly satisfying to impale your enemies with a well performed spear thrust. And we need beards because beards are beards.

Re: Weapons, equipment and such.
Moar weapons. Indeed, let us have spears. Crossbows again? Throwing weapons? More materials? Cities with catapults? Vehicles? Guns?
Perhaps the ability to change the colour of what we wear would be nice. I like ebony, but I'm not too keen on the colours. Perhaps we might be able to change the colour of our armour in-game, much like you can do with AC2.

Making armor and weapons would be nice, along with coloring it. Like maybe forging it at different temperatures changed it's color and durability. I would imagine Skyrim would have a large mining/forging industry...The Tom wrote:Moar weapons. Indeed, let us have spears. Crossbows again? Throwing weapons? More materials? Cities with catapults? Forging would be so great. Dark blue Ebony Armors for the masses!

I don't care about the weapons and etc, the game will be out in 2011. They have plenty of ideas to come up with.

Re: Weapons, equipment and such.
Since TES V is taking place in the land of the Nords which are renown for being warriors I think it would make sense to include the widest range of weapons and armor to date. I like Oblivion but its selection of weapons are armor were severely reduced form morrowinds and I hope that now with Skyrim that they can surpass even Morrowind's standard. Also I agree that forging would make sense in skyrim.

Everyone in the Stone had beards; they almost certainly will include them.
IDEA!
The ability to make snowballs and hurl 'em at people...

My favorite looking weapons in Morrowind were the Nordic steel and silver. I hope these make a come back. Also the return of making pelts into armor would be nice. And Ice armor.

Or at least edit the Snowball spell so that it was solid.Arch-Mage Matt wrote:Everyone in the Stone had beards; they almost certainly will include them.

But, yes, the color change needs to happen. It is imperative.
And making the armour more piecemeal, like in MW, where you
could use one gauntlet instead of having to use both. My
Khajiit in Oblivion hates having gauntlets cutting into the inner
elbow of his arrow arm.
As for weapons: Yeah, bring back spears. Leave the throwing
weapons out, though. They were fun, but ineffective. I could
imagine that Skyrim would be filled with spears. How else do
harpoon fish in freezing water? Or stab a walrus? And maybe
some more varied weapon designs, instead of all the straight
edges that you have in Oblivion.

I would love to see Halberds, maybe say normal attack uses the axe part and power attacks use the spear part.

^Good idea but I'd switch them. The spear part is for normal attacks and the axe part is for strong attacks.

Well, if we go the Morrowind route, then using the directional movementRed Guardian wrote:^Good idea but I'd switch them. The spear part is for normal attacks and the axe part is for strong attacks.
would probably influence which part was used.

Given the prevalence of both Viking and Scottish influence in the Nords, I'm expecting some serious beard-work to be achievable.

I kinda want crossbows, just because they look cool i'm not sure if they'd be effective or not.

Joking aside, it's probably likely there'll be a bit more regional variation. Anybody know what they wear/eat in Skyrim? I imagine there'll be lots of alcohol. And what about the face-patterns?

Yay to Beards and Yay to Snowballs!!
Spears would be cool, I would also like to be able to use Staves as melee weapons instead of just hurling spells.

I haven't played blood moon, though from lore, they'd be mead drinking berserkers.
so alcohol, drunkenness, light armor (furs, chain-mail etc) and of course, meat

They're like vikings. Their beliefs, costumes and all are about the same thing.

Re: Weapons, equipment and such.
As long as they bring back spears I'll be happy. Maybe this time though they will have one handed ones which can actually be thrown into enemies from afar to cause some serious damage. Spear and shield combination is a winner in my eyes.
Beards or at least a realistic amount of stubble would be a nice addition as others have said, the characters in Oblivion looked rather pansey-ish. No self-respecting hero looks like he just left school last Summer.
Hundreds of variations of armour and weapons! I don't care if most of them have the same stats, not all armour should have the exact same design as the other side of a province. I want my character to have an individual look, would be brilliant for role-playing reasons and the like.

Well apart from Bravil, Cyrodiil is quite a posh place which is probably why there was no beards.
