Oblivion Patch v1.1 Final Released
Oblivion Patch v1.1 Final Released
Just an FYI for all my fellow forum goers. The official v1.1 patch is available as of today 6/6/06. Download from official Oblivion site.
Hmm
Most of the fixes listed in the patch notes are strictly for technical and functionality purposes. One of the notable changes that could help everyone is as follows.
New Quick Keys. Press F1 - F4 to access your Journal and Stats menu
F1 - Stats
F2 - Inventory Menu
F3 - Magic Menu
F4 - Maps and Quests

Hmm
That most likely means they added that feature in on the beta patch, but included it in the official patch notes anyway.

I never applied the beta patch. My program is right off the CD without any changes or mods whatsoever. So perhaps there was an intermediate version being sold that had already incorporated some aspects of the patch. I wonder what will happen when I apply the official patch... I admit it is getting irritating to see the error message every time I exit the program. I hope that gets fixed too.

Re: Hmm
Was already in the original game, never got to the manual though - you had to read the Errata/Release Notes to see the notice about these.i9ub wrote: New Quick Keys. Press F1 - F4 to access your Journal and Stats menu

Fixed infinite gold issue on some dead NPCs. - Bye infinite gold
Fixed an issue where occasionally skills would not increase properly after you received an increase in a way other than skill uses - yay.
Fixed an issue with duplicating items and unequiping the bow. - Bye duplicate items glitch.
Fixed issue where spells, powers and lesser powers were being improperly resisted when the player cast them on themselves. - Bye weakness stacking?
New Very Low Quality graphic setting available - Oldblivion??
Unfixed:
Permanent bound by repair?
Paintbrushes?

BTW, have you noticed they removed "fixed crash on exit" from patch notes? They tried to fix it in Beta, but they didn't quite succeed

After patching Oblivion still crashes on exit for me, so at least they are being honest by removing that claim.
I was just noticing another funny patch "fix":
Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has issued a parental advisory 5/04/2006 noting that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (both PC and Xbox 360) versions were re-rated. New rating is Mature (M, 17+) instead of Teen (T, 13+).
According to ESRB announcement, "the content causing the ESRB to change the rating involves more detailed depictions of blood and gore than were considered in the original rating, as well as the presence of a locked-out art file or "skin" that, if accessed through a thirdparty modification to the PC version of the game, allows the user to play with topless versions of female characters... In line with its mission to inform consumers about the age-suitability and content of computer and video games, this ESRB Parent Advisory has been issued to ensure that parents who have purchased this game are immediately notified of the rating change. Parents should also know that a patch for the PC version of the game that disables access to the file with the topless skin will be made available shortly."
Apparently, modders might inadvertantly uncover nipples on the female templates. Err...who really cares? I guess if they didn't fix it in this patch, but made it a separate download, no one would have "upgraded".

Actually, they did.
