Today I continued with a project of mine I have been writing....which I stopped adding to about 6 months ago. Some of you may remember me talking about this. It's the political/religious one with my thoughts on humanity and society etc. I doubt I'll ever finish it at this rate, but it gives me something to do when I'm not looking for a new a job. It's rather enjoyable putting my thoughts down on paper, kind of a good way to vent.

Studied all day today. Played brotherhood for 1/2 hour, but mostly studying.
"The wheels on the bus go round and round" keeps playing in my head for some reason now.
Going to study for a couple more hours, then going to sleep

Jumpin back and forth doing laundry, getting ready for my work trip tomorrow, and then have to get the hair and beard trimmed up, before I go play with the SEALs.

I finally ended up back in school after 6 snow days excluding the weekend. It was nice while it lasted but I'm glad I'm back as I was afraid I was turning stupid
.
Is this meant to be witty, informative or deep? I doubt I can manage all three.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Stage 4 of my Great Ale Brewing Expedition is now complete, which involved siphoning it out of a bucket and into a pressure-controlled keg to sit for a couple of weeks to settle. Step 1 was cleaning the equipment, Step 2 was emptying a few tins of a mixture of barley, malt and hops into a bucket and topping it up with water and Step 3 was adding some yeast and leaving it in a cupboard to ferment for a few days.
This caused a quite rigorous pub debate about the extent to which this was 'brewing', because everyone argued that all I'd done was emptied a few tins of malt into a bucket and the difficult bit had been done for me. Someone said that I should have started from the beginning, growing my own hops and barley with which to produce the mash (my garage and shed between them are full of all sorts of things, but a mash tun is not one of them sadly), which I then argued by saying that if we're doing that, I might as well really start from scratch - acquire some land, establish a feudal system then take it from there.
Anyway, I also realised that my old chemistry teacher will be immensely proud of me, as he is a strongly dedicated practitioner of what he called 'bucket chemistry'.

I spilled paint on my pants today... the 'zipper' area, if you know what I mean... it wasn't fun going around with khaki shorts and orange and blue paint all over it.

Ring-a-ding, baby.

My brother works at a Starbucks kiosk in the local supermarket we dub Vons. He often has to close up shop there and clean the floor with bleach. His work pants get stained by it, but he says the pay is good, better than the average Vons wage because Starbucks is signing his checks, but he can't take tips.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I spent most of the day thinking up and working on my pan pipe. AS I have this profound lack of bamboo at my disposal, I was more or less "forced"to use Schedule 40 1/2"PVC pipe. I still have to tune it and actual assembly to the thing though, as about all I did was cut the proper lengths for each of the pipes (there are five pipes in all their notes being: C D E G A) and make tuning plugs for the bottom of each pipe. That part took the longest as I had no lathe and had to resort to sticking a 3/8" dowel rod into the chuck of a drill and filing and sanding the rod down to the appropriate size in thus manner. tomorrow I will paint the pipes (so as to remove the "trashy" look of it as I hate the way it looks just as PVC piping) bind the pipes together with some thick hemp cordage. After that is done I can concentrate on tuning, a prospect that will prove most difficult as I have no tuner save one meant for a Guitar.
All in all I am happy with it. I should be tootin' those Earthy melodies any day now.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
So today I learnt you can never hope to play or learn guitar while having fingernails of a respectable length. This makes me sad. Very sad.
I also learnt this is a musical instrument for which I clearly have never had enough respect. It is really hard to master all the reaching of the chords and those strings are a lot tougher than they look when everyone else is strumming away making it look effortless. I managed a B flat and that is all. Dear guitar players of the world: you have my utmost respect.
Hopefully a good run to the bar after the work week will numb the pain in my fingers. Ouch.

So far just sat and had a cry.
My partner had to go "home" semi-urgently so I don't feel so pathetic doing so because I'm on my own.

WoW's a good game when you find some good people to play with. And the Roleplay servers are really something.
But today, I went to beach for a school excursion. Our sports house won the overall points for the year so a trip to the beach was our reward. Pity it was cloudy, cold and rainy on occasions. And school OH&S prevents us from actually swimming in the ocean. So we had to suffice with a little rock enclosed pool. The water was freezing as well. So pretty much everyone didn't swim.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
A few things happened over the past few days. The deputy head at my school has decided to hate me again for no reason, so has brought up my hair again, despite the issue being resolved before. Some nasty business with that fool of a stepdad of mine means that I'm shutting him out of my life for a while, so communications with my family are slightly less active. Oh, and I went to see the Arcade Fire at the LG Arena last night, which was the best concert I've ever seen and well worth the hassle of getting there. And I've scrapped the laptop idea for Christmas and just settled for lots of clothes and CDs instead.
